Pro-ma MBL8

just did a oil change on my VR4,
i had quite bad lifter noise,

i was using royal purple (10w40) and lucas oil stabiliser
the lifters were very loud using this mix

I've switched to valvoline lo-vis 10w30 and Pro-ma mbl8
pro-ma is the only additive i would now recommend for lifters/tappets

the noise is now virtually non-existent,

it costs $35nz delivered for a 250ml bottle,
100ml per oil change, (or 125ml max if the lifters are real bad)
so its good for 2 - 2&1/2 oil changes.

highly recommend this for those people not wanting to pay for amsoil.
brilliant product!

I use MBL8 its good stuff, Think I paid about $50 though anyone wanting to get it, it has to be got through one of their distributors not sold at any shops, you have to look them up on line and call them then their closest distributor will call you back, mine was an old lady in a retirment village, but sounds like might be cheaper to get from NZ even after shipping.

bump for an excellent product,

after 5500km, the car only ticked once when cold for a couple of seconds. and that was 2 days ago,

performed another valvoline lo-vis 10w30 and Pro-ma mbl8 oil change today,

this is the 3rd service I've done with this combo, and it hasn't failed me yet.

Hey Carsten, hows your lifters so far after using this product? Reason I asked is I am due an oil change anytime soon again and ofcourse I'll be using amsoil as usual which I have stock already but....

My question is, can I use this Proma MBL8 to combo with amsoil 0w30?

The only thing with Pro-Ma is ,if memory serves me right, that it coats everything with teflon and then makes it extreamly hard hone the bore. To hone a teflon coated bore you need to run water or cutting oil over the blades and it takes 10 times as long to do. So if your planing to do any internal mods it would be wise to hold off on using pro-ma until you have done the mods.

correct me if I am wrong tho!!!

Man my lifters make enough noise you'd think I had a Mexican dude with some maracas living in my engine bay...

Thanks for the plug Carsten, next month when I do a fluid change I'll be sure to order some b4hand.

Damn I wish I seen this post before I did an oil change last weekend, my lifters are 3x more noisy than before the change. I used Motul 300V Chrono 10W40.

Is this Pro-Ma stuff readily available in Oz?

hows the motul oil? are they any good?

I've only had the Motul 300V in the car for about 100km's and I'm a little undecided so far with all the extra lifter noise and ticking etc that was not there before the change.

But I only ever used Motul in my 180SX and found it pretty damn good, so thought I'd give it a crack in the Legume.

I was impress of the product! Engine runs smoothly with no ticking noise, dead quite and sounds like a new engine.

I've used Valvoline 5w30, didn't want to waste the amsoil I got (just incase).

Hopefully this will continue for more kms to come.

I just ordered some too, I am using amsoil and its ticking really bad sometimes so I hope this should sort it out, if it doesn't I'll just have to buy new lifters.

Just done the oil change after using ASMOIL and had a lot of ticking.
Added the MBL8 with some Penrite SIN 0 I am also very impressed.
The engine feels great and there is no ticking! I will also update later on to see if it lasts.

I also orderd from http://www.fueloiltreatments.com.au/ very fast postage for only $6!
