I've noticed that if I turn they ignition to the 'On' position, I get a ticking/whirring noise coming from the around the throttle body. I'm certain I used to get the same thing from the old magna too. Any idea what causes this?

6A12 in my old HJ did it as well.. and so does my current car..

have you only noticed the ticking sound when you turn the key to the 'ON' position? I've always thought that it's a normal thing..

Its more noticeable 'cause the engine's not running ;)

TBH I thought it was normal too, its only cause Paul (Takumi) was over on the weekend and said his didn't do it that I brought it up...

Is it an auto vs manual thing?

Actually scratch that.. just realised you have a manual and I have an auto.

Not the fuel lines being primed? My TR used to make a similar sound and that's what it was.

Its the idle speed stepper motor that produces those sounds.
