I think if your comfortable with the workshop and their prices then go for it as you will have piece of mind that they did a good job..thats why I was willing to pay those kinda prices casue MEEK are know for doing things well and using good parts..

at meek i paid about 2.5k for timing belt job including all parts, new ngk leads plugs and full fluids change, ayc, trans, engine etc a few months ago. the timing belt job by itself is about 1.4k. then add 350 for full fluids service then the rest on plugs, leads, gaskets and labour to change.

i think they care enough to do a good job however i have a squeeky belt somewhere that i hope that its not one that would have been easier to change as part of this service.

Hi, i'm at 88,000km and am starting to gather the parts i need for this service as want to do it at 90,000km.

I can't see the list on the first page but from reading through some of this I think I have got/getting what I need.
Just want to make sure I havn't missed anything so a heads up would be appreciated.

I have
- Timing belt kit with gates timing belt (comes with pulleys and tensioners and gaskets)
- Water pump
- Spark Plugs
- Ignition Leads
- 02 Sensor
- Power Steering belt

Things I still need
-Alternator belt
-Thermostat
- Fuel Filter

I am also going to change Gearbox oil, Power steering, brake, coolant flush and get the ayc serviced.

I am first registered owner in Aus and got the car at 80,000km with the standard no history. have changed the engine oil and filter at 85,000 so now I want to know everything on the car is sweet and do it all. I also have the MBL8 additive to use with my Engine oil and M/T oil. Also heard its good to use in the power steering fluid?

My Lifters aren't noisy at all besides when I changed my Oil for the first minute or so, sometimes on a very cold morning too. I'm not going to bother changing them.

If someone can fill in any gaps ive missed will be appreciated. Thanks

Shane, you just said you don't have noisy Lifters but you still want to use MBL8?! Why? Use good quality oil and be happy knowing they're in good condition.

Don't forget transfer case and rear diff fluid - they're the same fluid and you need about a litre all up for both.

Also, sounded like you wanted to use the additive in the tranny fluid. Please dont do that.

Wasn't sure whether to use it anyway. Will steer clear until they are noisy. I used motul 5w/30 I think last time and was happy with it.

Didn't think of transfer case, thanks. All fluids in the rear dif should be done when the ayc gets serviced.

I have a manual gearbox. It's a big no no for autos but apparently really good for the manual. Have you heard different?

There are two fluids in the rear diff. Just make sure your mechanic is aware is all. Would be easy to overlook if they're not completely familiar with our cars.

It would be wise to just use the correct fluid for the tranny and be done with it. If you go adding stuff, chances are your changes will become sluggish. I used Amsoil in my tranny (when I say tranny I am referring to the manual tranny) and am loving how smooth and precise the changes are. Mitsi designed without the use of additives in mind, best keep it that way is my advice.

P.s, 5w30 is a very good choice of weight. If yours doesn't tick (as mine doesnt) with that weight, means you should be very happy. There are a lot of members out there jealous of us members without the dreaded tick.

I'm taking it to skr for the ayc, timing belt and everything directly related to that. I have heard of him through this site, he specialises in evos but also knows our cars. My mate is a mechanic so the rest will be done after hours at his workshop. I wanted a receipt for the timing belt and the ayc to be done properly so paying for them.

I won't use the additive yet, as you say some new fluid could make it feel perfect again. Can always put it in later but not so easy to get it all out. Thanks for your help.

I have just recieved my ignition leads today. I got the part number off of the parts list on this forum. I ordered Topgun MAX6181 and only 3 leads came in the pack!
I have spoken to my supplier and they said in the listing that is correct?
All I can assume is that you are meant to buy two sets of these? It sounds just ridiculous to me, If I buy a set of leads for a V6 engine i would expect 6 leads right!? Especially since i paid $180. To double that for a full set of leads for a car is just crazy! Am I correct in assuming you need to buy two packets and if so how much have other people paid for leads and where did you source them through. I am going to call Ralli Art NZ monday and see how much through them and if reasonable try to get refund for the topgun leads. I can't justify paying $360 for bloody ignition leads!!!

^ Isn't there 3 coil-packs? So 3 leads would make sense? I may be completely wrong because I am an absolute noob but to me, 3 leads seems right.

It's all good man, I personally had no idea until I got the car. The literal translation of the word knowledge is information learned through education or experience. Nobody knows until they're told or discover!

Ordered my 100K service gear from Ralliart it NZ yesterday. Bill was a great help making sure my order got picked and despatched today (thier last day before Xmas break).
I purchased Rocker gaskets, spark plug o rings, tensioner, cam shaft seals, crank shaft seals f/r, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, p/s and alt belt, upper/lower radiator hose and fuel filter. All for only about $690AUD posted.
Rest of the stuff like pulleys, o2 sensor, and plugs I picked up from Meek.

All ready to go for service now. Planning on booking it into Nova auto inovations as they have had some legnum experience. Anyone have any feedback on these guys?

Cheers,
