im thinking or getting a 3'' straight exhaust setup..
like an evo one..
i haven't seen or heard of anyone doing it..
probably because its going to be so loud, but i bought a butterfly valve to quiet it down while cruising.
what do you guys reckon?

I had a ECV on my old car and they don't do much unless they are full closed which stops the car from having any power.

I would just stick to a 3" with all the normal stuff. You really wont gain a whole lot anyway.

wat about if the valve is half open? still no sound difference?
im not gonna ripp it around with it closed im gonna have it open 100% wen it comes to the right time..
ive got a hi flo cat on and a canon atm and its noisy as hell just cruising.
cant talk or hear music..
The problem is that the stock piping isn't 3inch where as the butterfly valve is..
I was going to get a step up section made where it could be fitted but then i thought id be better off getting the whole thing 3'' straight..
still not sure what to do but it needs to be done asap, cos its so annoying.

Does anyone have a straight-through exhaust ? All the aftermarket ones still have the nasty hook at the end like the OEM exhaust.

An EVO6 almost straight exhaust only JUST doesn't fit because of the fuel tank.

Just smash out the Cat lol

That looks like Copper tube Tom, i would reckon that would be one dear system!

The pic Brocky posted is the best VR4 exhaust I've seen. If my car hadn't come over with a Fujitsubo I'd be getting one made like that.

Although to be fair if my car didn't have an exhaust I wouldn't have bought it.

Anyway, buy a Varex muffler if you want teh hektik quietz. I'll be getting one for my Sil.

do it, then u can run anti-lag mahaha. dont listen to these wussy 4wd spec car people :p

when i got my exhaust done, i have suggested the straight pipe to the guys. it can be done custom but it will hang low.

that exhaust looks awsome were can i get one or get one made in vic regarding the black exhaust vs oem

When people say straight pipes, they don't mean a physically 100% straight piece of tube. They mean a system with zero mufflers, cats, or other possible restrictions.

Straight pipes would sit at the same height as any normal exhaust.
