Hi Guys just thought I would share with you that anyone wants to upgrade their vr4 the this is the car.
http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b86890859
It has about 20grand worth of parts and is selling for $6000+ in Japan.
I thought I would share as maybee someone may buy it and then I will haggle and try and buy it from then when I get back to Oz in a year or two.
One of the best vr4's I have seen for the money and its a great starting point for making it one with the lot.
Cheers
PS there is another car going up for auction tomorrow which I am trying to get for my self as its a bit cheaper then the first one I just gave you a link for and I hope I buy it as I cant afford to spend even $2000 grand more on my car as once I sell mine I can only spend what I can get for mine as the missus wont let me and in Kyrgyzstan they are talking about not letting anymore right hand drives in from Japan soon so I need to get a car quick.
If I get this bloody white one. No offense to the white car owners but I had a white one in the past and my mum cursed it and it got written of so the next white one I will have the priest bless.

With that chromed front grille, it even resembles the 2nd Gen Magna with NZ-spec Diamante/Verada front end :)

Nice find!

That chrome grill and grey stripe above the rear lights is common on low end prefacelift cars. Obviously that owner liked them but I dislike them because they remind me of 1.8's selling for $3k over here.

Scott - nope they never came with flares but I've seen quite a few prefacelifts with them bolted on

how hard are the flares to find over there brad? My car's got that grey strip on the rear, I just thought that was common place on all the pre's

From what I understand in the description, the wheels (personally love them!) are 9" Work emotion XD9's for a GTR . Don't know whether it's R32/33/34 but maybe worth a look for a common fitment. They clear the EVO 5 Brembos that are on this car. It also has EVO Recaros however they're both Passenger side ones LOL.

Why would you bother

Hey why would you bother,
There currently are some good cars for sale in Aust at the moment, I know of a really nice purple beast down the south coast of Australia which could go to a lucky purchaser.
But really when you say it is going for around 6k you need to add the compliance, shipping so already that is around another 6k so now it is 12 K then when you bring it here if it is complied properly you will need to take off all mods and replace with stock parts then you will have to put all the parts you took off back on.
It seems about 40% of cars coming in also do a Torque converter Seal so there is another 1k (rough estimate) then you have rego, depending where you are not much change out of $600 most prob new tyres etc. then you will have to change the stereo or get a modulator for it.
really! check out http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/MITSUBISHI/LEGNUM/New South Wales/csn5381572.aspx
and even from the Iron Chef himself has some nice ones for sale. cheap !

Trav, Won't be from GTR, their offset is much greater, 32's are +22
How did you get those pics, i could only see 3 from the site??

Love the seats

what simon said.. 32 gtr's have the smallest guards of the lot... i guess it could have been a very 'safe' rim fitment on a R32 GTR..

i want the bonnet, flares and front bar..even the right colour. :p

Translated from the description so excuse the Japlish
"a work emotion XD9 offset is the GTR size for a wheel in a caliper of Evolution 5"
I read into that, that the offset is the same as for a GTR, maybe an R34?

The extra pictures come from a site that is listed in the description.

Legnums (no offence guys) can only take pretty pathetic sized wheels, usually above 8.5" wide is starting to push it and normally they are 7.5 - 8's.. 8.5's are on the small side for a GTR so I think if they were originally for a GTR they must have been a pretty conserative fit.

That is indeed a sweet Legnum, when I first saw it I thought "hmmm" but you're right, compliance would be a real battle.

Not that its important but 33 and 34 GTR's have a +12 offset. So, the Japlish is crap.

But... very nice wheels!! The seats are hot baby:p

maybe he means they are designed for an EVO 5 and just got confused?

Ben is right about the wheel size, max tyre width is 235 and you have to have the wheel offset in such a narrow range around 38mm

By the way guys dont forget about the $5000+ worth of stereo gear in the car and not too mention the cooler and what else lies under the bonnet.
Its got at least $15K worth of gear on it.
I would love to buy it for Kyrgyzstan if I could get my hands on another $3500 which is the difference if I sell my car here.

Is it safe buying from yahoo auctions? seems like a gamble to me compared to buying from regular car auctions they have over there in japan.
