Just put the wheels on in the meantime and put the springs on once they turn up.What sort of Bilstein's are you getting?

Ok, thankyou all very much for voting.

Other than that single vote for "other" it is pretty close to 50/50 :)

I'm pretty certain I'm gonna lead toward the BBS route, but unfortunately the set I was looking got sold before I got a chance to grab them, but thats no biggy, will keep my eyes open for another set. I decided on the BBS's because not only are they lighter, can clear bigger brakes (will need to look into how beneficial Brembo's are compared to say the Group Buy going on). But the main reason was cost, this set essentially cost $1000 less than the CR Kai's (with greater performance benefit) and better ongoing cost too, can get a better tyre for cheaper (compared to the same tyre in 18"), plus I was also happy how 17" looks on my car.

But if I aim to get the BBS wheels, I need to look into lowering the car first to stop them sticking out so far (and possibly look into wheel arches), once that is sorted then I can continue this on.

Thanks guys.

Also, for the guys in WA, I went and checked out a shop in Osborne Park called "Japanese Performance Centre" (Unit 11/ 28 Frobisher Street), and they get in tonnes of second wheels and parts and what not. I went there the other day and they had a decent amount of quality wheels (such as TE37's, Buddy Club P1's, R34 GTR Wheels etc) for some decent prices. I'm probably gonna head back there soon to test fit some wheels. They also said they have another large shipment coming in a couple of months too

What sort of Bilstein's are you getting?

Ordered a set of Bilstein B8 Sprints (same as Kieran). I went to order those Tanabe springs that I mentioned over at CVR4, but Ive now been to 3 places (including RHD Japan) and they say that the NF210 is discontinued as well, so it looks like I might have to go Tein.

can i just say can no one ever put cr kais on their car please

I like the top pic, either ones will look great on you Galant Vr4

JPC in WA is owned by Danny Vahoumis, formerly of Japanese Motorsport fame here in SA.

He currently drifts for the Miluc Civil team...

If you go in there, tell him he loves cock. Say I(Joel from SA with the Gold R31) said so ;)

Prodrice GC 013.... definately for me

You gotta post some pics when you get them :)

Small Update:

I lowered my car last week to help cure the problem that I mentioned above. So with the car lowered I refitted my mates Enkei's and ...

unfortunately they still stick out too far for my liking. So it looks like those BBS wheels are out, and also the Evo IX wheels too which were a good backup. However, fortunately for one+one, I'm not gonna grab the CR Kai's either because I want to upgrade to Brembo's. Since the car is lowered I fitted the Evo VI wheels again and ...

I'm gonna hunt around for a set of these, or some TME Enkei's (same size), and have those until I find a better set, so then the Evo wheels can become track wheels :) Will keep this posted

pffftt. that fitment is fine! just get some 225's on there (or even 215s) and the tyre will tuck in just fine. The rim is flush, its the tyre that's the problem

Yeah it's the tyres. Check the wheels on the cari mwaiting for. Imagine them with the tyres your mates enkies have on them... they probably wouldn't even fit. (hmm tarded formatting...)

Looks fine with the tyres it has though.

Those wheels fit fine!

Hugh - you'll have to find out how wide those are and their offset ASAP!

They'd be 8.5 +38. And with the wheel arch flares they'd look better in about +28!!! They do look tough as is though.

Yeah those 5Zigen's GN+ would be 8.5" +38

Had a closer look at the pics I took and as some of you have said it's down to the tyres. To me it looked like the Evo VI wheels (7.5" wide w/ 225 tyres) are spot on, whereas as the Enkei's (8" wide w/ 235 tyres) looks as if the tyres overhang a bit, so it's hard to gauge how 225 tyres would sit on an 8" rim.

Looking at this picture HERE, an 8" rim will stick out 6mm more, and I'm gauging with the responses in this thread that that will be fine? I will try to keep with 225/45 tyres as they are a closer diameter to what I'm currently running, just gotta watch to see how much they stretch.

Or am I looking into this too much and not getting an action done :D

225/45/17 is closest to the stock size, and they will fit fine over 8" wheels. I've got 235's running on 9.5" wheels!
