Another which rim, CR Kai or Forged BBS

I'll be running a 215/45/17 on an 8" +35 rim on my pre-facelift.

From the online tyre comparitor posted earlier today, you can see the difference here between the 235/45 and the 215/45... 215 is basically the same width as the rim, 235 sits rather wide of the rim.

A 225/45 would be fine too, just slightly proud of the rim if you want rim protection for parking near gutters (// parking)

The shape of the tyre in those pics isn't all that accurate. Stock EVO wheels have 17x8" wheels with 235/45 tyres and they go straight up and down like | |

215's on an 8" wide rim look more like / \

Brad, that's true, its probably not the best shap representation, but it does show where the widest point of the tyre will sit.. 225/45 is probably the best bet. Will sit almost straight up/down and still within the guard.

This is a 245 on a +35 wheel - true mexican fit!

Why would you want to reduce total clearance?

Better off rolling and flaring then adding tacky "flares"..
