So it’s been around a month since I got my legnum vr4 and over the last week I’ve noticed a leak from the gear box.

It’s dripping off the bottom of the gear box both left and right side.

After some investigation I have noticed that there are pools of gear oil on the top of the box.

I’ve replaced the filter as that was old and original to the car . Fingers crossed it fixed it but no it’s still leaking.

I removed all the pipe work over the top of the box to gain a bit of access but still could not see anything obvious.

Has anyone had this leak before. It’s been fine up until the last week.
It’s leaks on tick over and a fair amount too.

Is there any other places I need to look for that might have come lose or a pipe split.

Any help would be much appreciated as I’m thinking possibly a crack in the case somewhere .

I would degrease the engine bay first then go from there..

Also if you have air blower, it would help too to dry up the bay after washing it

I cleaned it all up with brake and clutch cleaner but still started running down after a few mins of being on tick over

Mine was leaking from the input seals

Gear box off job then.
May as well do all the seals whilst I’m in there. Anything you would recommend doing whilst I’m inside the box

Wave spring and weld up the plenary gear pins. There is a write up on the forum

Might as well do a manual conversion

Manual boxes are really hard to find over here let alone a manual car for all the bits.

I’m guessing these are all the seals I need

Will have a browse for the write up on that then. Thank you
