hey all, tonight i had a problem with my beast, i had driven the car left it for about 20min then jumped back in started it perfectly, and when i put it into drive the revs dropped heaps from idle and stalled...

i tried starting it about 6 or 7 times and the same thing happened each time...

in neutral it would rev fairly fine and idle was perfect but once in drive i couldnt accelerate or even idle without it stalling.... :001_mad:

i left the car for about 3hrs and then tried again and all was fine again???

a bypasser in a recent magna said it was a fuel pump...

could this be right??? has anyone had this problem before or help shed light on this matter...

Thanks..... :p

Hmm, it may be battery or alternator related. What is the voltage at the terminals when the car is sitting there idle?

Once you did get it working fine, was the idle a little low when you were in drive, or had you noticed that it had been 'dipping' down a bit recently?

Check the idle speed regulator thingy. May have shifted, causing the idle point to drop too low.

Mine did that too.

idle was back to normal when in drive after a few hours...

someone else had suggested it could be spark plugs...

but there has been no dipping whatsoever... this includes hot weather, cold weather, hot motor, cold motor, heavy rain, blah blah...
it really came unexpectly as the car was working normally like 10minutes before this happened...

im thinking ill keep driving and see if i notice anything happen again...

but ill still do a bit of research tho and keep u all posted...

Any news on this??
Did you find out what it was?
Mine has just done the same thing on 3 seperate days over one week!
Now I have had it put in to the work shop, will let you know what happens next . I hate these kinda jobs coz they just come and go and are hard to pin point.
