Hey all, I know the t/c seal thread is there, but just wondering if the removal of Auto box is an engine/box out, or will the box come out leaving the engine insitu?
Cheers

you can do the box alone.....

remove drive shafts, transfer case, and then the gearbox can be dropped out the bottom,

bitter harder than that carsten. :P

the engine can stay in the car, however you will need to remove all but one of the engine mounts, and use an engine hoist to lower it all down so you have the gearbox at enough angle to slide it out under the chassis rails.

Thanks Guys, That about answers my question!
Cheers

and trying to get it all back in is actually harder than removing it :)

i found it easier actually.... we struggled to get the gearbox at the right angle to get it out, but getting it back in was much easier to position it.

Thanks agaiun, I appreciate all the comments!

i personally removed AT box several months ago
some nuts especially near the back turbo are difficult to remove
some wire plugs even have a metal clips did give me hardship to remove it

working under a 1600kg car also has some degree of danger

as long as u don't get detered, u would get lots of satisfation removing or putting the box back

it's an old thread I know...

But i've searched and had to asked here since i'm in the process..

I was wondering, to remove the engine + the Transmission (mostly focusing on the Auto box) but I can lift it out via the bonnet? or do they have to get dropped out and removed via the bottom chassis?

You'll need to drop them out. It's a lot easier

In the past we've taken the gearbox off through the bottom and then lifted the engine out with my engine crane. You will NOT get both out at the same time going upwards though.
