Automatic windows using your key!?

Yes, as strange as the title is, apparently for some reason I can automatically wind the front two windows down using only my key (regardless if the car is on or off). Unfortunately, I can't seem to reproduce the effect when I try and do it, but it's happened 3-4 times by accident. I think I'm pressing a combination of unlock and lock or perhaps holding one or the other down for a certain length of time... I'm not entirely sure.

I've done a search for this feature on the forum and on google but haven't managed to track anything down. Have any of you guys ever heard of something like this?

First time it happened I accused the g/f of leaving the windows down the last time she drove it, only to realise a week or so later that I was wrong... lol

Yea you can do this by unlocking the doors then pressing and holding the button again without opening the door. That winds the front two windows down, if you leave you windows open when you lock the car press lock again and hold and your front and rear windows will close!!

Yeah I've tried doing that, but it didn't work. Seemed to only ever work by accident. I'll try again tomorrow morning and see what happens. Cheers mate!

I confirmed this the other day, pressing unlock once then pressing and holding it a second time works. Awesome to know on those hot days or if you accidently left your windows down :D

also starts the car.... :) an idea for you all... ill DEFINATELY be getting that same alarm again, eventually..

Hey Josh,

Yeah I have the same alarm in my GTiR. I forget which model Viper alarm it was, but it came with the pager keyring, auto windows and remote start. You can actually get it off ebay for around $300 which is an absolutely huge saving!

I'll be putting another one in the Legnum when I get a spare chance.
