AV receivers... you know 7.2 hifi stuff etc

Wondering if there are any people on here with either of these receivers at home.
Looking to upgrade my home entertainment system, which I bought for $6500 back in '99.

So the receivers i'm looking at are
Denon 2312/3312
Pioneer VSX 2021

The room is 6mx4m and will have a TV&PS3. PS3 will be gaming and DVD/blue ray. TV is 3D capable.
Sound will be music and movies.
Current amp is Yamaha RVX-793. Decent in its day but HMDI and wifi didn't exist.
Speakers are Audiotone and yamaha STS150 sub, rears are mission models 73. All the stuff is 11 years old. Looking for a new sub and maybe new front speakers may be rears or a package depending.

I'd like to stream music and video to the receiver to take advantage of the different zones these systems now have. Looking at 2 maybe 3 zones depending.

I like that pioneer have designed their systems to be controlled by current ipad/iphone etc I have mainly mac here.

So getting to my point, I'm interested in hearing from anyone that has the above 2 receivers or slightly lower spec like D2312 etc What they liked, didn't like etc.

I have been reading through avsforum.com which has great info, but would like some more.

Anyone recommend a great sub too- i want feel the shock of explosions etc on screen. Read about the Maelstrom sub range, but they're too large for this room.

I have an Onkyo reciever only 2 years old and sounds awesome was about 3k for it but besides getting very hot when running it hard (I have heard this is normal for them) I am more than happy with it.
It has all the normal stuff but I dont know about the I pad/phone stuff as I dont have one

I am more into the 2 channel world, so can't help with the receivers, but can really recommend Ascension Speakers for any speakers/sub.

The guys name is Edward and you will get a custom designed product that sounds better and far cheaper than any comparable shop front product. I have 2 of his big floor standers and absolutely love them. His subs are fantastic.

Simon I have a Denon 2310 which is the same as the 2312 except for the 3D and network options. This amp is everything that you need, it is a complete package at an affordable price. The Pioneer equivalent would be the LX53 this is another great amp that has it all.

Talk to DIGITAL CINEMA.com is Sydney the do free shipping on everything and last I saw you can get the Denon AV2312 for about $1200-1500. I aslo got a 5.1 set of KLIPSCH RF82 that shake the whole house and are very crisp and clear. The speakers were advertised for $6600 and I got them for about half of that.

Call them tell them what you want and ask for a better price.

Also ask to speak to ATISH ang get the Klipsh speakers.

Ok thanks Rob. I have settled on the Denon 2312. Didn't look at the LX53, might check it out quickly now.
I'll check out the speakers as well. There's too much choice
