Hi guys,

I need to replace the clutch in my 96 Legnum....
Iv looked on RPW.com.au and found that the HD clutch is about $1000...
Firstly, is this a good price to pay?? and.....

Does anyone know who in Brisbane would install it for me at a reasonable price.... I realise it is a big job and i am prepared to pay but i dont want to be ripped off..

Thanks for your help

Aron.

I'd recommend buying your clutch through kudos motorsports (if you're looking at an Exedy). You can get a HD for under $700. Also, some people have had good results from the Evo 7/8/9 kit instead of the Magna one. Have a search around for details.

As for fitting, it's about a 10 hour job so it's not cheap. Gavin Wood on the GC has done a few, as have APC (but they're not recommended by many members on here).

Neil Lowe would do a good job but may cost a bit more.

cheers

Lee

p.s. can a super-mod move this into the QLD section

Also you could just get an evo clutch and pressure plate and still use the stock flywheel.

Or a local clutch guy would be Jim Berry at Race Clutch. Will not be as cheap as an Excedy HD (about $1000), but it depends on what your aim for your car is.
Ring Jim and have a chat (allow a bit of time), and he will recomend what he feels is the correct item for you (may well be an Excedy HD).
I am in Adelaide with Extreme closeby, but have just ordered my clutch from Jim this week, because from the research I have done, I feel I will be much happier with his product than a cushion button excedy or extreme clutch. Do a google search and have a chat to him, he seems very genuine.
I will hopefully be able to comment on the clutch within a month if you are in no rush.
