Hey Everyone,

Well im Bugz, also known as Bugzbarney on some forums.
Actually i should right we are, because my dad and i go under the same alias.

Junior Bugz here atm tho.
Im into the Corolla seen, AE82's seem to be my corolla of choice, but for some reason Legnum's have always tickled my fancy, as they have Dads.

In a rather odd circumstance, after advertising his Prado for a number of months, a guy from Melbourne rang Sunday, offered cash sight unseen, flew over Monday had a look and a drive, and now the prado's gone...Cheering hey :tongue_smilie:.


Because we are still in process of building our corolla, and we have a jayco poptop thing, a Legnum seems a great option, power/ comfort-ability/ and damn sexy looks.

Few questions we have tho.
What are Legnums like for towing? I mean i have read specs etc, but really you gotta have towed something to really know.

Secondly, anyone want to sell, or know of a White S2, That DOESNT have woodgrain or the cream/white leather, under 100,000km's? Other than the general listings carsales, carsguide etc..Would love to i mport the right one, however dont really have the time :(.

And Thirdly, Anyone local to Blackwood SA, and wouldnt mind showing off there car to us?

Hey and welcome Bugz. I cant help you out with the whole lenum towing part but im sure the 80% of legnum owners on this forum can lol
 
The only facelifts that have woodgrain are the ones with the tan leather, so it won't be too hard to find what you're after.

I've towed a few cars (including another Legnum, which will be about twice the weight of your corolla!) in Legnums over the years and never had a problem.

That's a quick buy! Good luck finding one ASAP, but you may find that waiting although inconvenient could net you closer to what you're after.

Make sure if you end up with an auto (which I have) and are planning on towing a lot that you fit an aftermarket trans cooler as soon as you can. There's a guide in the How-To section which is super easy to follow, and the cooler kits are only about 80 bucks or something from SuperCrap Auto.

Also welcome! There is a dyno day at Graham West in about 3 weeks time, which isn't TOO far from Blackwood - if you haven't got one by then it'd be a good chance to see lots in one place. If you HAVE got one then you can come plonk it on the dyno :D check out the dyno day thread in the SA forum for the submission forms and details.

There is benefits when it comes to parts when you work at Autobarn ;). I do see a few Leggy's and Galant in everynow and again too.
Graham West is only Marion Road, not far at all. Hopefully i can pop down.

Na Buddy, started off being a home job through a mates mates...But you know how it goes...
finished up being full baremetal spray from a guy who has done it for 25 odd years.
Full engine rebuild with 277 cams on a 8mm lift, quad throttle boddies, aftermarket computer, coilovers etc..
In other words what was gonna be a cheap tidy up, blew up to be a expensive corolla :)

How things change...

Taking the money nazi to test drive a Legnum sometime over the weekend. Then, if we cant find what we want, we will import one :).

Fingers crossed i should be sending Iron Chef a message in the coming week :).
Fingers double crossed, he has read my thread, and found us a Leggy already :p.

I'm sure he'd have some ideas! Good luck - is the test drive more to get in one before you import or have you actually found a local one that you're interested in?

At this stage just to test drive one, Synergy do have a white one, that might be worth a look, however it is 19k.
