buying a legnum from an importer ?

Hi I plan to buy a Legnum from an importer.
Just wanted to know if there is anything I should keep an eye out for.
Is there anyway to get a mechanical check done on the car prior purchasing it? (car is in japan).

What are the most common issues faced when owning a Legnum ?
