Hey guys,

I tried getting my clock out the other day, didn't want to come out, so much so that I snapped a bit of the transaprent face on the top right(where the screw goes into the housing).

After some fidling at the back I managed to pop those clips out but the two at the front where the actual clock clips in are super tight.

Is there any way to get your hands up to those clips to push them up... tried removing the facia and air con vents but the actual ducts sit just bellow the clock so that was pointless.

Would love some alternative clock removing advice lol.

Yeh, i snapped the same bit. Glued it tho and you cannot tell.

They really are a pain to get out.

I'm just paranoid it'll snap more, it just seems the cover wants to pull away from the clock and not with it.

just keep pushing up with palms of your hands on the overhang bit, spreading the load across it. it'll feel like it'll brake but it'll come out. it is a bitch, i had my body lying across the front seats pushing back on them and up and i still thought it wouldn't go but it eventually did

do not try and lever it up, it will break

Hammer + Chisel

Hmm I like the hammer + chisel idea, but seriously, in the service manual it has some removal tool, all it says is use it to remove the clock.

Any alternate tool to use and does anyone know how you actually use it to remove the clock?

You need to spread the load as evenly as possible. If you use a device such as a screwdriver you'll put too much pressure in one place and do damage. Try hitting the front overhanging lip firmly with the heel of your hand if you can't get it to budge with constant pressure. Mine came out fairly easily...

sorry to dig up an old thread, but just wondering if anyone can give some pointers to removing the clock in my galant, need it to come out without breaking,

The pointers you are asking for are right above your post in this thread! Did you even read it?

Yes but I thought since the last post was 4 years ago someone might have worked out a easier way
