Well im interested to see how everyone finds the clutches they have in their VR4s. Talking more about heavier duty replacement clutches really. So name which one you have and what gripes you have with it and what you like about it. For example for me:

Exedy sports organic evo7-9 clutch kit
Likes - Feels very strong/capable, quite easy to take off from lights with it.
Dislikes - Bad shudder/vibration when you dont match engine revs ie changing down gears.

Im interested in this because my opinion of the Sports Organic clutch seems somewhat different to most peoples from what i can gather. And before i start trying to get someone to fix my problem i want to be sure it isnt a characteristic of the clutch.

don't know what my clutch is.. It was done by APC, paid $2500 for it, including recondition of master and slave cylinders..

I believe my pressure plate is my oem one but machined.. clutch disc is new I think?

grippy, doesn't slip at all (haven't tried launching at 4k rpm) no shudder or anything..

I've got the evo sports organic as well. I only get a judder if you don't change gears right, the same feeling you get from any manual car if you get it wrong. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Was your flywheel machined before the clutch was installed?

Exedy HDCB - Magna kit
Likes: Has never slipped and taken lots of abuse
Dislikes: Very 'grabby' and shuddery if you are not used to it.

I've also had the clutch dampener removed (the theory was it would make it better for launching) which may contribute to the grabbing/shuddering

Madhav - No i didnt see that link, interesting read.
Paul - Yeah it was machined, and my shudder is definately not normal, trying to contact kudos about returning the clutch cos allstar say its a manufacturing fault (should be fun).

anyone hav any opinions or reviews about clutchmasters stuff?

Hit up evolutionoz.net, they have info on a lot of clutches over there. Was very useful to me when i was researching.

On a seperate note, to update on my clutch dramas the shudder on downshifts is almost non existant after 2000kms. And the clutch is a lot nicer now its fully bedded in, still grinds a fair bit though. Very nice to drive hard now.
