Howdy all, hope you are having a good weekend. I am sure its better than mine ._.
Long story short, after starting the car I go to take off. When launching the car loses all power as soon as the clutch starts to engage. IF I use 3000 RPM or more, it will launch fine. The car also runs fine if I use between roughly 50 and 100 percent throttle.
i.e. no power unless I plant it.
By no power I mean the car wants to stall badly, and does quite often. It also idles rough and seems to be running on 5 cylinders. Any ideas on what to check? I am about to go out and reset the ECU (battery off for 10 minutes) to see if that helps at all.

Any help appreciated!! Thanks.

it could be the following..

- vacuum leak between the maf and turbo..
- could be your plugs too

when was the last time you had the plugs changed?

Rear plugs were done 13k ago with timing belt, front plugs not so sure.

The maf (is that the component just behind the air box? Not mechanically aware. The square thing) might be the issue. When I unplugged it the car idled and drove fine (if not far better than when the car was working fine)
Where to go from there?

Could it possibly be your cat has caved in?

I doubt it due to it running fine with the maf sensor plug

Giving it a clean is worth a go and check if the plugs ir anything look damaged

So I gave it a clean and it fixed it up... for a week.
I was driving for about half an hour, and gave it a fair bit before turning it off (only waited 30 seconds)
After this the problem completely returned. Tried cleaning the MAF again to no avail. Any ideas?
The car still runs fine when the MAF is unplugged.
