Coolant levels??? hot and cold

Stupid question but just making sure, is it ok when coolant level is just below low line when cold? about 1cm below 2 b exact when i got car it was above high line when cold, thinking it might have blown excess out when hot?? radiator cap is all good and cant c any leaking from hoses or thermostat:sad:

Should i put wetter then water additive in and sit coolant level between lines when cold??? thanks again guys just stressing that i have slow leak:sad:

I don't think you can tell that your cap is stuffed just by looking at it. The levels will move up and down- this is normal. You sound like your having the same dramas I am having. I find that my levels are going from low to over-flowing recently. I am going to order a new higher pressure cap from Ivan and see if that helps. If that fails I will be draing all coolant and flushing then using water wetter.

I thought I had a problem with the cap too, but in the end found the coolant level dropping and rising in the expansion tank is normal.

Thanks 4 the replies I will just keep an eye on the levels for the time being. Just replaced the radiator cap with genuine ralliart cap so I don't think that this would be the issue in my case.

Some people will report it completely emptying out. I've never had this happen myself though. Ultimately what you want to check every so often is that the radiator is always full.

Thanks for the reply, i will keep a eye on the radiator for time being only owned car for 1 month apart from trans seal being replaced and weird coolant levels as is going well, loving the car
