Pics are of my own Vehicle and a mates with twin setup(his preference, not mine)

this is just to show them off and see whos interestd, next step ill then list it in the Shop Section and setup a Listing to confirm orders should anyone want 1 or 2 ..

they can come plain uncarpeted and you can do it yourself or itll come totally complete with or without sub aswell if you want.

this box is designed by MYSELF(originally) and is farmed out for fabrication(current firm was charging WAY to much),so Price will be available afte ri do the math but just to give you an idea the prototype cost me $450 to build,im hoping to Nearly Half this!!

box will house any depth 12" Subwoofer
and it is designed to house the JBL GT Series mono amp but i know people and preferences change so im leaving it upto you...

the box WILL be a straight fit in and then screws to the body using most of the existing screw points available, all you will need to do is cut out the carpet area where it goes and your away with the fairies...

Would you be willing to show a blueprint/scale drawing of the box? In case other members would like to try and make it themselves. I understand you are wanting to sell them; but there may be those members who wish to make their own for various reasons.

Either way, count me as interested pending final price / etc.

i had feeling id be getting this from you soon again lol...
:sneaky2:

Sorry mate, I mean no disrespect. Just thinking out aloud for other members... You have done a fantastic job, I was thinking more DIY. Honestly, it never crossed my mind that you are a trader and its all about sales.

I retract my previous post.... meant nothing by it mate, best of luck with your sale.

curious to know why they are built out so much? is that for the depth of the sub?

any pics of the back of it ?

how does the two on either side sound?
I have experienced cancellation when two subs fire directly at each other?
Very good job, what sort of money would we be looking at to purchase and can they be supplied trimmed in another type of material,vinyl/tan carpet and the option of grills to protect the subs cone.
cheers
CANABL

ok here we go 1 post for 3 questions lol..

OVR444- i didnt take any offence lol,i meant it as a joke lol,but yes i am trying to get my buisnes up and running so hence my hesitance really.

JET150- my brain has gone to sleep but its 22-32 litres wich is recommended for the 12",see www.rockfordfosgate.com/boxwizard for mesurment calculations

Riley-the depth is not much at all!! try calculate the space you hve available and then see what you need, then try build a box with the correct or OND within this space and youll see you WONT!!!
it took ages to figure this out but i did it nd it works,it sits IN the SIDE WALL of the car not just in the tray area, ill have some pics with the boxes being made up soon.

Canabl-they sound pretty cool TBH theres not much cancellation going on with the setup in the twinners, the subs still pump hard for Optimum space saving units.
i can supply them how you wish dude with or without grilles too
its your call.. i give you what you want lol

Just a thought, but in a twin woofer enclosure when x2 drivers fire at each other, usually you reverse the phase of 1 to counter the other. So when 1 pushes, 1 pulls.

Just a thought if you are running them facing each other.

Quinton, Thanks for clearing it up, I took your reply in a negative tone. Apologies. I am still interested in these as they are one of the best custom box designs I have seen for the legnum so far.

much apreciated man,and glad you now know i did no mean that at all..if yuo bought 1 then you could dis assebmle it and make your own lol... and sel lthem locally lol..

correct on the pphase changeover lol

Very nice and tidy set up!

Some sub boxes have vent holes in them, and some don't, any reasons for this?

This is called Ported and Sealed.

Basically, it comes down to the sound style you want and actual woofer you're using.

You could say;
Ported - Aimed @ SPL ; loud bass, Punchy, Very low frequencies.
Sealed - Aimed @ Sound Clarity/Quality, Very tight bass sound, best for fast beats like a double kick in rock/death metal bands.

I have a sealed box, as I listen to rock music with a fast beat and I like a clear crisp sound. However I also have a ported box here in the garage that REALLY kicks ass when its installed.

The type of woofer you use is very important also; remember the entire idea behind a sub box is to have the driver work efficiently; this is why some are made for ported and some work better with sealed. However for most entry level subs and owners requirements these days, it doesn't matter too much.

Generally speaking, woofers in a sealed enclosure generally require a lot higher power to produce the sound output as a ported box running half its power level.

As per usual, it all comes down that what you want.

thanx for tht, saved me alot of typing errors lol....

i had 2 type R's in a sealed box, but they produced more than enough power to shake iron rooves in a sealed box. i didnt dare try ported lol. These look fantastic quinton, any chance you're going to try something similar for a galant?
