Hi guys, Just thought I'd say G'day. I currently drive an RVR but I need a little more room and I'm also up for a change.

I love the Legnum! Was going to buy one a while back but found a cheap RVR at the time.

Anyway, what price should I be looking at for a Legnum with lowish km's and in decent nick? There is a black one on ebay I've been watching.

What do you guys think? I'm happy to settle with auto.. Manuals seem hard to find and come at a premium!

Also, What power can the auto box take before it needs work? I'd eventually like around 180-190kw at all 4.

Cheers guys

that isn't a bad price at all for one that is on the road and complied.

The auto's are an excellent gearbox and can handle a lot of power, but they need to be well maintained, otherwise they are very expensive to fix!

For 180kw ATW you're going to want a boost controller, fuel controller, fuel pump, replacement BOV, new intercooler and an exhaust. That should see you there comfortably :)

Great thanks for that. Yeh I've been doing some reading on the forums and sounds like the autos are great as long as you take care of them and get a cooler fitted.

Are all the legnums factory 206kw? And what does that equate to in 0-100km/h and 0-400m times?

Are there any good performance shops in Sydney that know legnums well?

Cheers

Welcome Dan! I know rough times for those sprints but would also be interested in the 'factory' claimed times if anyone knows

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum.

To answer your question about the power output, all the manuals are 206kw as are the series 2 (or facelift) autos. The series 1 autos are 191kw (I think) but it doesn't matter if you are going to tweak it anyway.

I don't know of any good workshops in Sydney yet, but if you find a Evo specialist you should be right.

That car has been on eBay for months now and it keeps dropping in price every time it's re listed. My advice would be to offer the seller 2 or 3 grand less than what is currently listed at, you never know your luck.

OK.. Awesome guys cheers.

So about the mods and expected power from the auto. As I said I'd like about 180-190kw at all 4. Is there anyone floating around the forum putting this power through the auto? If so, how does the auto respond?

I am looking for a reliable daily driver (even though I don't do much daily driving! Train to work!) that can do the 1/4 in mid 13's. Would that power reflect a mid 13 1/4?

Cheers

Hey, good to see another potental NSW buyer. I think most of us here in NSW are waiting on cars or still in the buying process.
I too will be looking for a good performance shop in Sydney that know legnums well.

Welcome to Ozvr4 mate. Apparently Meek Automotive in Girraween is a really good place to go to. They're an Evo specialist and everyone on www.evolutionoz.net regards them highly.

If you're interested in having a look at a VR4, I have mine finally so I don't mind taking you for a spin. I'm in western sydney.
