Just wondering what the clearance required is?
Measured roughly (using a straw... then measuring the straw when i got inside LOL) 55-60mm between my rotors and my Enkei GTC-01's 18x8 with an offset of 40..

I had a QUICK search, but dont think anywhere has the measurement im looking for?

Thanks!

It is difficult because the stock rotors don't end up in the same place as evo rotors. What I can do for you is measure the gap between the stock rotors and my EVO 8 wheels on my Turquoise VR-4 and see what the distance is.

Do you just want the measurement from the face of the rotor to the face of the calliper?

The calliper sits 55mm out from the face of the rotor.

ok so 55mm from the evo rotor to the face of the brembo calliper... now i just need to know about the difference in the rotors :D cheers brad, let me know if you do get a chance :P

brad did you end up doing that measurement as well? from the stock rotor to the rim? or dont you have the stock rotors on at the moment (dont bother if its going to take more than 5mins, its not 'that' urgent :D)

Frozen let's face it if they wont fit you will sell the rims you have and get new ones anyhow right.

So, just purchase the brembo's and find out the easy way :-)

if they dont fit ill be looking at the project mu alternative :)

From the stock rotor to the inside of the EVO 8 wheel is bang on 70mm. The caliper is fairly close on those, so I'd say about 65mm from the rotor is what you want. Also remember that the caliper is quite close to the hub, so you want to measure from the inside of the rotor area rather than the outside.

and from the outside:

Keep in mind i have about 1.5mm at the tip of the ruler .. so add that on.

what are my chances :D

It is the inner one that is going to be the problem. I reckon you'll have a 50/50 shot of getting it to work, that is too close to call unfortunately!

Don't you know someone with an EVO that will let you simply bolt the wheel onto their car?

that or i could go tell christian to bolt one of my wheels on to his vr4 :D

lol do they make 2mm spacer? :D

2 piece rotors? Nice.

Yeh, see if you can fit your wheels on a car with brembos fitted.
From the looks of what you have measured tho, they should fit.

Josh, I doubt your rims will fit (judging from the first pic) because i measured mine today and its got about 67mm space all through out.. also keep in mind that there's only around 2-3mm gap between the rim spoke and the caliper itself..

lets give it a go christian :D keep in mind the evo calipers are probably a bit different to the standards.... we'll give it a go... when are you free?

Hi guys, sorry to ask what may be a dumb question. I just bought a set of evo brembos front n back. Are they direct bolt on once i get the evo discs and pads?

i know my wheels are ok as they have massive offset.

Phong - assuming you have a facelift yes they bolt on. If you aren't sure of what that is, do a search!

i know my wheels are ok as they have massive offset.

that doesn't insure clearance,
its got alot more to do with spoke design/thickness.

and you need the evo rear brake lines to, the vr4 ones have a different hose to caliper fitting.

96-early 98 models wont bolt on... late 98 - 02 it will... mines a 96 so im going to need the front parts from a 98-02 model. If you still dont know, just look at your front bumper... twin pairs of foglights? or singles? singles = pre facelift... meaning you need the facelift hub assemblies..
