Welcome to the site bro!

Good luck finding that combo.... I waited 6 months for that (Except Indigo Blue not White in colour) and settled for a tip-tronic as apparently I had between buckleys and none chance of finding one :(

As the guys said, make sure you come down to a cruise. Always top fun when those two organise it ^^^^

Hi Michael.

I was after something very similar to you and by pure dumb luck, I managed to get my hands on an immaculate series 2 Galant, with sunroof, manual, Recaro seats and interior and it was dark blue. I only had to wait a couple of months for it too!

The combination you're after is quite rare but certainly not impossible. White is the most common colour so that makes the search a little bit easier.

If you haven't done so already, you should contact one of the reputable import brokers so they can keep an eye out for your exact specifications.

it pretty much ticks all the boxes bar the auto trans... :banghead:

its got the microtech, tein, turbo back exhaust... blah blah.

only reason i bore you with this is ive been burnt 2 many times in the past, and am finding it hard to commit and buy ANY car... I feel if i tell you guys, you will all hassle me eventually to hurry up and buy one... lol...

(Also does anyone know or seen a white 2001 type S, tan leather from a guy name Erik from Sans souci?????) Just in case i miss something tomoro. but this is a first inspection, as i need to redraw from my home loan which takes a few days...)

So wish me luck please, as im a spaz n need all the luck i can get... LOL.

hey it says your from strathfield??? r u the guy with JAP-25L?
Yeah that's me.

That Legnum looks alright. Needs a new tow hook cover and some spacers in between the front number plate. Other than that, looks great.

Just make sure you check underneath for leaks as the torque converter and rear main seal are common problems and cost $1000 to get fixed.
Bargain the price down too.

Michael.

As you say, that particular car has been on Carsales for a long time. In fact, I saw that car for sale when I first started looking for my car nearly 4 momths ago. What this means is that you should negotiate hard as the seller is probably suffering from "seller's fatigue".

Don't stress or rush with your purchase. Take your time and search for the right car. Remember, if you're patient, your other option is through a broker, which will generally result in a cheaper car that better matches your specifications (e.g. manual transmission).

Good luck and let us know how you go!

Hay man looks good just make sure it has a tranny cooler or if not you get 1 ASAP. Just ask a few of the boys on here how much it costs when you blow an auto box. As it is a common thing in an auto with that much power.

i noticed the tow hook and spacer issue... lol

now a stupid question, as thats what i do best (LOL), is the torque converter and rear main seal next to each other??? and also is that at the end of the tailshaft or something, or somewhere else???

ive got my eye on a trans cooler already thanks to your previous threads guys... its the same brand and size/thickness, but only difference is width is 230mm instead of the 280mm you guys suggested in a DIY thread. Other than slighty less cooling due to smaller size, would it be fine???

And thanks for your help guys...

Welcome to OZVR4 and good luck with getting yourself in a VR4 mate, very nice cars. :)
The price isn't too bad if you consider the warranty remaining, and if he really has spent 29 grand on the car then it should be a real weapon. I find it hard to believe that the car has had THAT much money spent on it, but if he has the receipts and information for the work done then you will have bought a bargain.
And I may be wrong Chris but i'm pretty sure the autos can handle some reasonable power IF they have been well looked after with fluids changed regularly and the correct fluid put in the box (and a cooler is added for oz conditions). There is a story going around on here or Clubvr4.com about one of the NZ boys who has ran his modified auto down the strip (launching as well) many times with no issues at all...guess it depends how good the Jap owner was with maitenance.

Facelift Manual 400hp VR-4 Legnum
The price of the car plus amp/stereo, suspension, ecu will all add up very quickly.

As for the car, it looks good. The Auto's are very strong internally as Luke said, but if they run low on oil or if the oil gets a bit old they will simply explode. If you have your heart set on a manual I would simply suggest buying the car and saving for a manual conversion :) Everything just bolts straight in, it is a fairly simple job.
