ECU Database - which do you have??

Guys, we're starting a ECU Database to identify which ECU was put in each particular model/year/series as currently this is a really grey area in our knowledge base.

Please ensure that you wear an antistatic strap and ground your case correctly before opening.

If possible also include good quality macro photo of ECU internals if your ECU type has not been previously posted.

Please post up which ECU you have in the following format.

Username - build month and year - Transmission - Mitsubishi Part# - Processor Type - Circuit Board # - Case Type

Kat, please also include the circuit board number, white lettering top side.
eg,
JE331B154C had a 7202 chip
JE331B33802B had a 7203 chip

It may ultimately be a vital data item, and cant hurt to record.

I might got ripped off by Te Puke Partsworld in NZ with my new "7202" ECU which I've bought 3 weeks ago... It's plastic case says MD362895, but the internal chip is a 7203FA -.-

I believe this combination doesn't exist?

That would be a first Tom, I haven't seen a MH7203 in a MD362895. Did they knowingly swap it out or did someone else before they ripped it out of the vehicle, its very strange, whats worse is I don't like your chances of getting any joy out of them. To answer your PM... MH7203 has not been successfully flashed as yet, its close but not available yet !!!

The tuner from All Star Garage in Perth was pretty confident on getting it done. He said he'll have it in 4 weeks time as he is currently working on a project for the new Skyline's. We'll see!

A lil more research has unearthed another variant of our ECU's

MD360639, as soon as I have macro pic's I'll post this up in the first post.....

An interesting development I found today, a couple of guys on Evom have worked out that the case number is also embedded in the ROM.

So I fiddled the addresses and presto, it works on the V6 ECUs as well. Have only checked three ROMs but it tracked.

Does this help us any? dunno, maybe, we will see.
