What exactly is ECU Strain?
Blew an auto gearbox up, replaced it and that gearbox also died within a month. Both times I had ecu strain code. Any relevance?
First time it died on the motor way doing 60/70mph. Lost 3-4-5 gears when warm but would go into 3 and 4th gear when cold for 5sec then would be disengaged. Had no codes previous to it dying.
Replaced gearbox with its correct gearbox ECU. It lasted a month. It changed from 3rd into 4th and sounded like clutch slipping, I let off the pedal and it engaged the geared properly. I just let the car roll 50m or so, turned a corner, started to accelerate and had a nice loud 'bang' followed by grinding and crunching. Sounded like something fell off and was being dragged.
It will reverse with a loud clunking noise now. Putting it in drive makes a whining noise and doesn't move.
