Hey guys,

I have looked into organising one of these days following my outing last Thursday.

Basically, it would be an advanced driver training day, and we would have the track for the day (8am - 4/5pm). The group of 30 or 40 attendees (depending on interest) would be split into 2 smaller groups (novice & intermediate/advanced - based on track experience). The two groups then share track time throughout the day on a 20-30 minute rotation, overseen by an events co-ordinator/track marshall.

The price includes 4 instructors and two events co-ordinators (who can also instruct) for the day (Ex V8 Supercar, Ex Porsche Carrera Cup drivers), to help you improve your technique and track driving ability.

Breakfast and lunch is not provided, and will have to be brought along with you, although there will be a break for lunch in the middle of the day, when you could leave to get lunch and return for more track time in the afternoon.

Date at this stage is not confirmed, although Im betting a weekday is far more attainable (in terms of getting the track). It is most likely to be on a Thursday in any case.

Cost per driver (30 drivers total) $ 350 ea

Cost per driver (40 drivers total) $ 265 ea

non-driving spectators $30 ea

It would be good if we could get 40 people, between OZVR4 and Team4G, I think this is achievable.

Post up if youre keen, and only if youre willing to commit! I dont want people saying "yes im coming" and then never pay up when i put the full details up.

cheers

Dan

I am keen. However, it would have to be in a few months. I don't have the cash for fees, tyres etc at the moment, but definately want to do something like this in the not to distant future.

I think we are looking at November, or even early next year at this stage :)

plenty of time!

Yup November sounds good to me, definitely IN and will have enough time for preparation

I'd like to do a Winton day next year (once one or both of the cars are ready). Would anyone be interested in a weekday event? Track hire is cheap cheap on weekdays!

i will be ready to do so once i get my new clutch/ dump pipes.
i have a fair bit of cash spening going on atm whilst trying to save so i might have to wait untill next time.

I will prob spectate though.

I'm interested, however need dates before i can commit also being a weekday will also depend on work at the time

Original post updated.

Unfortunately I need approximate numbers before commiting to a date, as when I do, Ill need to pay 40% of the total costs :(

Please post up if youre keen!! Was hoping for a little more interest from here! (having said that, i do understand not having a specific date is an issue for most people.... )

Once we have approx 20 or so confirmed, I can look at confirming a date and booking the day!

November sounds great, this will be my first time definitely count me in. Besides bringing my own food, drinks and I assume a crash helmet (does it matter if it is a full face or open face?) is there anything else I need to bring?

March would be a good time, we just booked a holiday to Thailand for 17 nights....27th we get back :)

I can't make it (cars to build and a holiday to have), but hopefully we can organise something for next year for Winton. Sandown is a little too scary for me...

we havent picked a date yet, it may well be early next year, such as in Feb or March now.

As for what to bring - just long sleaved, non-flamable pants and shirt/jumper and a ADR /AS approved Helmet. Can be full or open faced.

A fire extinguisher is a good idea too (but not neccesary)
