Hey all

I have noticed in some of peoples pics that there are extra switches under mirror and fog light switch. My car has nothing in this blank. Just wondered what the switches are for? Can someone post a pic up of the switches.

Just curious.

In mine (S1 Auto) there is a switch to turn Traction Control On/Off & I believe the other one is de-icing the window or something like that...

Could be the launcher for the thermonuclear warhead to blow up the bastard who just cut you off. :wanker:
If that's the case, I want one.

The manual says they are, from left-to-right:

- Wiper De-icer switch
- TCL switch
- Plug

So if I don't have a TCL switch does that mean I don't have traction control or does it mean I simply can't turn it off? Mine is a 1998 FL Type S

For guys with TCL, pull the TCL fuse so its permanently off (cept Brad ;)).... If you don't have a switch it means you don't have TCL

Steve has the only facelift ever seen with TCL lol.... So as a general rule, no, facelifts do not come with TCL :)

I thought as much but wasn't sure. That would explain why I can hang the rear out in the wet around corners!

That's what I wanted to ask, before Stephen's post confused me.

You'll get the "skidding car" light on the dash if you have it and its working

lol yep mines special :p

when i first got mine, the check engine light was on and TCL OFF light on the instrument cluster was permantely on...couldnt work out what the problem was, checked the plug/fuse in the engine bay was unplugged, so plugged it back in and now all is fine, but yes its alot nicer to drive with it switched off.

is it just me.. or u only have traction control when u DONT have AYC. seeing these 2 systems work in quite different ways, they would conflict if both were enabled.

and seeing manuals dont have AYC.. well to the best of my knowledge.. they would come with the options of traction control. where the autos without AYC also have the option.

Nope, I have an auto series 1 & I've got both AYC & TCL.

Dawso can vouch for that as I won't turn them off !
