After a lot of cursing, I see Trevor (who wrote in the guide to remove the bottom radiator hose) has a manual transmission. For autos, the clip on the bottom hose is almost inaccessible due to the transmission cooler's hard piping. I gave up.
However, I was able to easily remove the drain plug from the radiator and have topped up the coolant and it seems to only have taken about 3 litres, which I guess is just the radiator's capacity. I didn't bother drain the block as per Wynn's post above, but I wonder why others here are quoting 6 or more litres. Surely the radiator's drain plug should be as efficient as removing the hose because it's at the lowest point.
