I installed the intercooler last weekend but didn't put in the crash bar since it had a massive section missing in the center from rust. If I was to cut the bar, it would just bend in half. Need to find a good condition one if I am going to cut and place over the intercooler.

Out of curiosity, how big is your intercooler?

Many peeps have managed to fit large coolers without cutting the crash bar.

Sounds like you need a replacement as its rusted... But here in AU cutting the crash bar is a big no no for roadworthy.

If it helps in your search, a EA1A/EA1W/EC1A/EC1W Viento (1999 onwards) crashbar is the same.

I installed a Mishimoto M-Line. https://www.mishimoto.com/mishimoto-universal-intercooler-large.htm
The crash bar is about 1.5" away from the mounting holes.
The size is
Width 3"
Height 11.75"
Length 31"

Looks like a sweet cooler.

Pretty much the same size as the HDI.
Are you not able to massage the headlight support assembly/bonnet catch like the vid?

I remember having to move push it a good 20-30mm to get my HDI in like @Kaldek did in the vid.

Just don't want you to regret cutting metalwork :)

I'm looking to have a custom crash bar made. For now I will do what ever I can to avoid a head on collision. ;)

I have the exact same intercooler and my car already didnt have a crash bar. If you are already going to chop one up, can you use a USDM one and cut it to pieces? or can you just run it without the crashbar?

I am debating on running without it.

I don't feel comfortable banging in the support. I am looking to see if I can get a custom one made.
