So if anyone has seen my wanted thread I blew up my auto and was looking for a manual front cut. So anyway ended up finding one, thing is its a little expensive and all I need is the gear box.. What should I expect to sell the rest of the front cut minus the manual stuff for??

You should make your money back, it will just take lots of time removing everything. How much is the front cut?

Front cut is 2600 - buy on Saturday 10% off if I pay In store so 2340ish.

Btw it's done 137k and is pfl

Should be able to sell all the bits and pieces for quiet a bit.eBay sorely needs more Legnum listings. Dibs on your engine cover If it's not cracked lol. As a reference I pulled apart a VN commodore engine with a mate and we made about $800 selling everything for $10-$50 lol

Thing isim really not mechanically minded and wouldn't know a whole heap about pulling it apart. Next thing is it will be at my workshop where he will move it to his storage warehouse where I won't have 100% availability too

TBH I doubt you'll be able to sell a lot of bits off it. Long engine for cheap maybe, turbo's and that would be about it. Most suspension parts will be worn, panels are usually stuffed. There are so many guy who have gone the front cut path and end up selling most of it for scrap. You'd honestly be buying it for the parts you want, maybe $500 back on engine/turbo's etc and then that'd be it.

That's what i've observed over the last 4 years browsing this forum

this is why i ended up dumping heaps of good stuff when got my half cut, didnt want to cart around any longer it takes a lot of time to sell the bits and pieces, only paid $1700 del any way wasnt too concerned.

So do you think it's worth getting it for that much??

Make sure you buy a big angle grinder too. To chop up the crap that doesn't sell and fit in your rubbish bin each week for the next year :D

i got mine 5 years ago prices are differnt now , i would just try and get only what you need.

Have you looked at getting the Facelift Leggie off carsales. Prob get it for 4k and it's a full car with brembo's. More expensive but you get a full car to part out

In all honesty I don't have time to part stuff out.. At the moment I'm still working two jobs and it's killing me. I think I'm gonna get the half cut and try and sell as much stuff as I can! Hopefully it will be worth it on the end!

Can you get a replacement A/T from any Mitsis that were sold locally?

no.

have you spoken with a mechanic about labor cost yet? my manual conversion took a good workshop over 30 hours and they didnt have to remove all the gear from a front cut.

Yeah I have, his done a fair few manual conversions and is confident that he can keep it to the strict time. His quoted me 1750 for labour although said budget for 2300 incase anything goes wrong!
