Hey guys, it's probably alot to ask..

But is anybody able to help me install the Boost Controller and Front Mount I'll be getting for my car?

I don't want to take it to some performance shop where they've never ever worked on one..

So yeah, if anyone is able to help me out.. I can pay cash, beers, lunch or whatever!

..Or if not I'll call up Meek and see what they can do haha..

Or we can do a DIY day and we can get a bunch of things for people done? *shrug* an idea..

I got this kit (Core size 600mmx200mmx70mm):

I'm keen tom! Where about's are you?

I've never done it either but i'm pretty keen to have a go and have tools + am quite handy mechanically.

I also enjoy walks on the beach, my favourite colour is blue.

When you going to have all the bits?

Argghhh... how much did you pay Tom? PM me if you don't want to say in the thread but as you probably saw in my members thread, I recently purchased and received one of these. I can get a much better price than what this kit sells for on ebay, I got the manufacturers details who makes em.

So yeah if you haven't ordered it let me know ;)

Good to see the mods coming along.

I live in Ryde, but can drive out anywhere really!

Maybe after we could go for one of those walks on the beach........

Let me know when you'll be available, might be able to take a day off work, or meet up with you next saturday? (I should receive it between Mon-Wed next week!)

Next sunday is the Putty Rd cruise :)

Ryde isn't far man!

I'd say a week night would be better for me but it might be a little ambitious, you need to drive this to work right?

My only concern would be how hard the FMIC is to install, does it bolt straight on?

I'm over busy so only have wednsday night this week hey :| Sat I think i'll be riding somewhere.

If your IC and piping comes maybe we can do that then?

IS it a manual boost controller or an electronic one, if it's MBC it will only take 5 mins, if it's electronic who knows how long it could take!

When Ivan (x3emotorsports) helped Gaving (BuzzPuppy) replace his FMIC and piping, it took them something like 10 or 12 hours

The tech day at Kamikaze to demonstrate FMIC replacement is scheduled to take an entire day. Having done Gavin's car, Ivan should be able to go quicker this time, but he told me that it should still take at least six hours.

EBC will only take about an hour. You need the EBC power wires connected, vacuum line to the new boost solenoid then out the other side back to the standard nipple, solenoid to EBC connection wired in, plug standard solenoid vacuum line, and boost pressure line from the plenum to the EBC if it displays boost.... Fairly straight forward and way easier to set correct boost :)

installing those pipes will be a breeze if you've done it before.. but if its your first time, you tend to double or triple check things before you leave it..

with the driver side pipes.. its kind of tricky/hard to remove the factory pipes since you gotta rotate and fiddle with it in a way..

I can imagine getting the FMIC installed is a bit of dicking around.

Tom it doesn't phase me to be honest, I'd do a late night on it if you want.

Might be worth being able to get to work with out it the next day just in case however :p

And what Chris said too..... :)

For example, took me hours to do my trans cooler.... Now i could do it in under an hour! Allow plenty of time IMO

I dont drive to work, so if my car is out of action the next day that is fine by me! haha.. Just atleast need somewhere to keep it safe if it is in pieces LOL.. My driveway is a bit merrrr for doing this kind of thing..

Garage on top of a slope! But I'm sure we can clear some room haha..

Late work nights don't bother me either.. I tend to always end up with them anyway!

and the Boost controller, is an electronic one with a switch to flick between boost levels.. no clue how it works.. and i have a boost gauge sitting at home wanting to be fit haha..

Hmm well I'm free wednsday night. So we can decided what's best to take on then.

I'd say probably go for the boost controller install + your boost guage.

Then make the IC + piping install for another night.

The EBC you have probably comes with a manual right? I've installed a manual one and a car PC between those two things I recon we will be right :p

So its a dual stage.... Real descriptive bro :ROFLMAO:

Put a T junction in just before the boost pressure line reaches the unit and run the boost gauge off that (is heaps easier :))

Should be able to get one from your local autobarn or supercheap but worst case scenario you might be able to get one from a plumbers shop....

Make sure it is the right size lol..... Also get the smallest zip ties you can find and zip tie all the connectors.

Also get something to plug the line to the standard boost controller.... Hugh's manhood doesn't count, even though it'll be a perfect fit ;)

You can also mount the EBC boost solenoid to the side of the standard one to hide it from the boys in blue :D
