Hey guys,

I just purchased front and rear camshaft seals from Mitsubishi.

Front camshaft seal - MD372536
- this is the seal in a "donut" shape

Rear camshaft seal - MD180402
- this is the seal in a "end cap" type shape

Now I bought 2x of each of these, thinking front and rear was referring to the front and rear banks. I think I have made a noob mistake!

So my understanding now (and please confirm this) is that front refers to the non-gearbox side, rear is gearbox side and I should have purchased 4x each?

Thanks,

Wes

Yeah front of the engine refers to the driver's side (crankshaft pulley side) on our cars, rear is the passenger side (output/gearbox side). Same goes for references to the transmission.

How annoying! I got them through Jesse Streeter in Japan. I'll probably just pick these up locally now... Cheers.
