Fuel Gauge view incorrect

Do we know if its the guage in the dash that's dodgy or the floaty thing in the tank and/or the appropriate sensor that's giving a bad reading? I've been wondering if i could fit a new fuel gauge somewhere, shits me when things dont work how they're meant to...

It will be the shape of the tank. Just get to know the gauge you have and you wont need a new one.

My record is 140km in my purple car from filling up to actually reaching the F mark.

In my ST-R, I've done 160km from the empty line to aiming at the E itself and deciding it was time to fill up. I had only used 53 litres!
