I've looked around, but can anyone put a price on how much vr4 would have cost in its prime (brand new) , whether it would be 1996 to 2002, cheers

Admittedly, I had a bit of a tought time looking for it but found an entry in the literature section:

About $60k sounds right if sold locally here (i.e. inclusive of all the applicable taxes etc).

You're getting something with similar performance, spec and configuration to a Mazda6 MPS and Liberty GT, both of which were around the $60k ball park here.

Makes the VR-4's $10-$15k second hand price today seem like a steal!
