Does the v6 Magna flywheel easily bolt on to 6A13 crank and match the starter gear as well?

Is the 6A13 f/w a dual mass unit?

And finally does anybody know the weights of the factory f/w, Magna f/w and the 6A12 f/w?

Thanks.

My manual starter looks almost identical to a 3rd gen magna auto starter. I'd go so far as to say that they are the same, but I'd need to see them both together to make 100% sure.

Not sure about the flywheel. I think they may well be a dual mass, but I haven't gotten the damn gearbox off yet to know for sure lol.

I see you are partway through removing your gearbox. Are you in or near Sydney? If so I'd like to see and measure and photograph your flywheel etc once apart.

The car's in Richmond at my mate's workshop. Once it's finally out, I can take measurements and pics for you if you like. It's going to be out tomorrow, even if I have to take to it with an angle grinder lol

It is a dual mass unit. That is why there are the 20 point bolts on the engine side of the flywheel. I was also wondering if the magna wheel was the same. I should have had Extreme Clutch compare them when I dropped mine off to be machined last week.

Doing the clutch is a big job (especially the first time), but well worth it.

Thanks for that guys. I'm learning there are quite a few different clutch setups for these Galants and Legnums. Some are common to Magnas and, I was told, GTO's as well. I'm having difficulty trying to find out much on this stuff though.

Currently organizing having a mandrel machined. With that I'll be able to centralize the bellhousing I'm going to use on an adapter plate bolted to the 6A13 block. The mandrel will be adaptable to other bellhousings as well.

Just need to research more on available f/w's, clutches and stack heights so I'll know how thick the adapter plate should be and the spigot shaft length I'll get made .

Also I prefer not to use a dual mass flywheel. I alos doubt there's any point in having an expensive custom steel one since the engine rev range won't be changed from standard.

Seems there are 225mm and 240mm f/w's with both push and pull clutches. Though don't know which models had which. One possibility is the 2 litre f/w from either the FTO or earlier 6A12 Galant, but not sure on clutch options there.

Would appreciate any worn clutches and pressure plates ppl might have in their junk piles. Both push and pull so I can compare the heights. Also if anybody has the RH manifold to sell I'd be interested. Please PM if any of you have these.

the push types are for non turbos. (on the 8th gen legnum/galant)

6a13tt vr4s use 240mm pull type, same as evo7+ (the evo flywheel can be used with a custom spacer)

6a12tt vr4s use 225mm push type same as evo 1-3 (i beleive)
