1 x Carline Alarm & Immobiliser inc Central Locking

Sounds OK to me. To install an immobiliser is normally an expensive task so thats why it probably seems a bit exxy....

TBH, seems a little steep. I got a autowatch 446 rli premium alarm installed, and that was only $700~

Granted I do all my own installs on stereo gear, but that seems like alot of $$$ for what you are getting hardware wise.

Personally I have never been a fan of Hertz amps (cheaper range) and polk audio has never really done it for me either. For that money, I would say look into Rockford or Focal. $2500~ should get you a decent in-dash (dual din) dvd, great front splits, good amp, wiring kit and alarm. including install.

Autobarn should never to be looked at for great audio advise. I think you can do better for that money, thats all I'm saying.

I would recommended:
Head Unit: Kenwood, Eclipse
Amp: Eclipse, Alpine, Kicker, JLAudio, Infinity
Splits: Focal, Alpine, Infinity

These are the brands I used to sell and use regularly, never let me down. Of course there are plenty of higher end brands (i.e. rainbow) but lets not open a debate :)

I agree with what you say there Brett. It's not a lousy deal but for the buck you may do far better.

As far as Focal goes, if you can find a rep that is willing to work a nice price, you will never look back. I have Focal splits in the fronts and they are seriously crisp and stable speakers.

+1 Focal - I run 165KR's in the front and they have been my best set yet. (Been through, Infinity, Alpine, Rainbow, Kicker) The price is the killer for Focal gear, as Justin said, find a rep who will move on price and you will never regret it.

Thanks guys.

I just really like that JVC head unit. I owned one in my previous car and thought it was really good. Plus the new one has sat nav.

The install labor cost was quoted at $480 including all wiring.

You should be able to get a much better deal.

I've seen that head unit on sale for $750. And that alarm is on the cheaper scale.

For that money you should be getting a 4 channel amp and a sub as well.

Also as others have stated. Autobarn isn't that good for car audio. It used to be, but it's sold out to cheaper brands.

Go to JB hi fi and no doubt they will do the same deal much cheaper with a better quality amp and speakers.

^ +1, got all my audio gear from JB. They do installations now too although I didn't use that service. They don't stock the ultra audiophile top end splits etc. but they do have a good range of high quality gear for very good prices - seems to be a 30% off car audio sale on every couple of months.

I was lucky enough to get a JVC single din flip out dvd player for $600 at one of those 30% sales. Also got 2 MB Quart amps, sub, box and wiring for around $1000.

becareful with JB..last time I wanted to buy a JVC double din and they advertised it for $329 i think..and I found it for $230 online and they acutally matched it...all i'm saying is that check online and get them to match it...

Ouch. JB-HI FI

MB Quarts @ $599
Kicker Amp @ $249
Alarm @ $160
Central Locking @ $130
JVC HU @ $999
But install @ $780

trev, its a bit of a hike, but autobarn at capalaba are probably the best autobarn in qld for audio installs. (virginia too i think)

i dunno what your local one is like, but for a quality install, id trust capalaba autobarn. i have heard of other autobarns being rather dodgey.

and those prices seem a lil bloated like steve and brett said

JB will always do you a deal in store, especially if you buy a whole bunch.

So which should i go for? I have spoken to JB but they simply wont move on their nearly $800 install fee.
