Hi Guys.
I have just negotiated for myself and I thought I would share with you guys a great price for upgrade turbos.
Guy will email me the exact full specs today or tomorrow but basically delivered from canada two GT28rs ball beraring turbos includes postage so no more to pay.
$815US. Thats approx $1250 so $1300 with bank transfer etc.
I think they call this the gt2560 but I will confirm but not from china and a true ball bearing.
May even be able to get a few bucks extra discount if we buy a few sets but I doubt it as I got the guy down from a already discounted ebay price.

Sounds interesting indeed

for idiots like me too lazy to search, i assume these are slightly bigger hardware and have the associated advantages/disadvantages?

I am still looking into a bit more and will post the specs up tonight but I may actually go for the gt28's from NZ as they are a bit smaller gt28 then from canada so should spool up a bit quicker and price is almost the same.
From NZ the turbos are made in china but I hope that wont make much difference as they do come with 12 monh warranty.
Price almost the same $650EA NZ$ plus freight so works out about $800US for 2 turbos delivered.

Hi mate,
hope their not too big! I had Gt28RS on my old skyline. Awsome turbo!!! which mad 230RWKW and had full boost by 3700rpm, but 2 of them might a little to much. Check skyline or sylivia forums to confirm your getting the one.
Cheers

Cam, was that a 2.5L skyline? The GT28RS are rated at 320hp each are they not? The standard GT28R is 280hp and the GT2554R is 250hp.

Yea was on rb25 with supporting mods. Great match for the car pretty sure 320 sounds right. Definatly not smaller, it was the famous 'disco patato' if that make more sence. 2554R would be my choice

Looking at the turbo from NZ it looks good especially as it is $699NZea.
I think it should spool pretty close to the gt2554 but have a bit more top end.The price is better also and 12 months warranty.

Guys I just got an email from the mob that they do have in their range a GT2560. They said that it will spool up quicker then the GT28 and that it is a smaller turbo in size then the gt28 and that the 2560 is a journal bearing but is a quick spool turbo due to its design.
They gave me a price of $800US for two turbos and that includes freight to kyrgyzstan so I am 95% sure that when I save a few more bucks in the next 5-6 weeks I will be making a purchase of these 2560 babies and making some custom manifolds and 630cc injectors and we will see how the car will go compared to Valmes and madhavs.
We are getting more ambitious with th vr4's and that can only be good for future vr4 owners.

make a design for the manifolds - does the bolt pattern on those come the same as the gt2554r ball bearing ones? if so.. those manifold designs will be gold :p
