Whilst Sony's E3 Conference provided the long awaited release date for Polyphony Digital's anticipated Gran Turismo 5 title, its conclusion has brought news of a Collector's Edition for the title.

Priced at $99.99 RRP, the full list of contents are as follows:
- Sylish, premium packaging,
- exclusive 1:43 scale diecast Nissan GT-R Spec V,
- an in-depth 300-page car guide,
- a GT-branded key chain,
- a voucher for five DLC cars,
- a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Further details are as follows. Produced by popular collectible car maker Kyosho, the diecast Nissan GT-R Spec V is an exclusive item that features a custom Gran Turismo livery designed by Polyphony Digital.

The in-depth 300 page car guide is sure to be a key attraction for fans of the franchise, detailing a wealth of information that includes the history of the automobile, driving techniques, professional racing tips, car and engine basics, tuning hints and finall reference data regarding Gran Turismo 5.

The Collector's Edition itself is a limited run, so fans will definately want to get pre-orders in early. Those that do so, for either Standard of Collector's Editions, will also be able to claim a selecting of exclusive cars for the title, including the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Nissan GT-R GT500, McLaren F1 and others. Each will feature a "stealth" livery custom-designed by Polyphony and also provide performance upgrades over their standard counterparts.

lets just hope they dont postpone the release date again and it had better be a bloody good game given the prologue and the delays etc...
 
I got a feeling it will. I dont think another car game could ever match this game. No developer would spend 6 years making a game. They are just lucky Sony has been backing them lol.

From what i've seen, the attention to details is amazing. The Top Gear test track looks pretty cool.
 
Oh man, given the build up and the hype, I hope it is in no way a disappointment!
 
Honestly; I hope it works out better then the GT5 Academy demo that was DLC a couple of months ago. Honestly it looked like they dressed up the graphics from GTHD a little and completely wrecked the handling.
 
I'm a big FAN! the Prologue sits on my self rather prowd. I'm VERY much looking forward too this game, I will be running down to my Local EB here in Tammy to preorder it for sure.. I just really hope that the 6 year wait is worth it.

I have a pretty neat setup for such games. Well games in general. If anyone is looking for a good racing wheel. Get a Logitech G25 or the newer G27, Best wheel I've had. The Clutch pedal and six speed H shifter makes the games Seem more alive.

Yea i have always said i would buy a ps3 when gt5 came out, looks like i better start squirrelling away some pennies

Looks awesome, the addition of the top gear track looks really good

Hopefully it'd run on the PS3Fat, as I'd be getting one of those (if I can afford it) whtn GT5 comes out, so I can still play 3 & 4 when I get the urge.

I have been waiting ever so long for it to come out! I was disappointed when it was postponed..

That vid; my god, i thought the evo x and sti wrx were actually real! And the top gear test track! How awesome!

This might be the second PS3 game I buy haha.. I only bought one game LOL
 
Maybe ill finish GOW 3 and FFXIII in time so i can get this, been waiting long enough for it the preview vids look promising im hoping its nothing like the prologue version, looks like some of the memebers will have to bomb the galants and get some online racing cranking.....oooooooooooo yeah
 
I will buy a PS3 when its out...i've been waiting for it...but it sucks that you can't play gt3 or gt4 on the ps3.
 
yeah that was one of my concerns with the new PS3 slims. but seriously, how often do u go back and play older games, hardly ever. and u can pick up PS2's for like $50 these days.
