Guard pull for facelifts

I was just prepping to trim my flares ready to get my guards rolled and pulled, when I had a thought that any changes to the shape of the guard may affect the flare from clipping back on.

Has anyone ever had their facelift's front guards pulled?
I'm interested in hearing from you.

Cheers

What size wheel and tyre are you going to run?

I found, as did a couple of others, that just trimming the flare and rolling the metal lip(not flaring it) was enough to clear reasonably 'out there' offset (18x8.5 +20 with a 235/40 in my case).

Really?

I just got my front guards pumped 15mm+ and an 18x9 +38 245/40 barely fits.

Flares popped on ok.
When my new flare trim rubber arrives, I'll put up a photo.

The flares gives another 5mm of guard clearance once you roll the inner lip. Like Joel said, plenty of us have run wide wheels and a roll and flare trim was enough.

The specs you're using shouldn't be a problem. Unless your car is at stock height. The tyres are a bit too large for the wheels though; a 235/40 would be much better. A 225/40 would give you even more clearance.
