this morning the whole family went to Caloundra and ended up at Golden Beach.. knowing that the drive was around 1.5 hours, so when I parked my car I left the bonnet open so that the engine would cool down nicely... and since it was at the beach and wind was quite strong I didnt realized that it would've lift the bonnet all the way towards the windsreen..

now I've got a f!%^ed windscreen.. car's still drivable no other dents or anything just the glass is cracked on the sides.. I think it was the 2 hinges pushing down on the glass which made it crack...

will post pics later..

jeez not good to hear!

If i remember correctly, someone else had an issue with their windscreen and it wasn't too much of a hassle getting a replacement (i could be wrong though).

Still, such an inconvenience though!

bugger, my battery light came on last night , probably gone alternator

That's a bugger Christian but I'm sure someone on here got a replacement from one of the regular windscreen places that had it in stock. Price might be another matter though.

Im on the sunshine coast and today was pretty damn windy, it blew my bucket over when I washed the legnum (rained an hour later lol)

damn that would have sucked.. sorry to hear :( I heard someone got a windscreen in the NZ but costed a small fortune? not sure.. talk to AllJap or something? surely a place local could get one in. how bad is it?

cracks aren't across the glass.. they're mostly on the sides.. but definitely i need to replace it.. so mods for the car is on hold until i replace it.. :(

had a quote from O'Brien though, they can get the screen by overnight.. also it does come with the wipre defroster thingy.. $481 fitted.. but.. BUT.. I have to get a rubber mould.. which sucks..

Ahhh bugga mate! Least you can pick up another...

Sorry to hear that dude!:( It sucks even more when your trying to do the right thing for your car and it ends up going really wrong. As they say "no good deed goes unpunished".

so there was no scratches or dents on the actual bonnet?

And where an you get the rubber mould from?

Rubber mold? That's odd - Ian (VR4Pilot) got his replaced by a local windscreen place with absolutely no issues. Maybe send him a PM to ask about it Chris?

what is a rubber mould? is that what goes around the windscreen? surely they can re-use your current one if so... if not thats rediculous :P

O'Brien has to order it from a different company..

i'll contact him soon.. i gotta go to work..

Windscreens O'Brien did my whole front windscreen no problem at all.

They had 3 in stock when I got it done. Don't know WHY they got them when at the time there were only 3 of us VR4s in the state but oh well....

Cost me $200, but normally $430 I think..

thanks everyone to their replies..

Brad (King_panther) - did they replace the rubber mould on the side and top?! or used the old one as well?

what's the workmanship like?
