Hey guys

as most are aware, my accident over the weekend meant my Legnum has gone to car heaven. Im awaiting the result of the insurance assessor but it's defs going to be a write off.

If it is confirmed, I need to look at new cars to continue work etc...

Im just playing around with ideas but at present i have three favourites.

Toyota Chaser, Sub Forester XT and Nissan Skyline 300GT sedan...

I have found a one of each that I would buy if given the opportunity but i was looking for general opinion and or experience? if anyone would like to offer?

Cheers

Not keen on getting another Legnum?

Personally i would go for the Chaser. I want one myself.

Hmmm it is in my mind... just... bit eery with them at the moment... i dunno... might sound weak but after the crash... would feel a little eery to be back in one again... i have sourced them and know what I want should I change my mind... super 2000 with recaros. :)

It really depends what the car is for. The nissan would make a good cruiser, nice comfortable drive. Chaser is quick and different to the nissan. The XT is far more a family bus not as good as a driver car as the chaser etc

Yeah i have looked at aristo's before but i think the only models i like are around the newer lexus styled models, circle tailights etc...

In terms of shape i do prefer the chaser.. i know its a slight difference but its enough for my eye to overlook them...

The choices are all a bit different, i mean... the chaser sweet turbo sedan, well regarded engine durability etc... the skyline sedan, sweeet ride... luxury with a bit of power... and then of course... the beloved legnum.. ah I do enjoy the ride in a legnum... best of both...

I guess ill let it sink in, but keep any opinions/advice/general knowledge coming... means a lot!

cheers guys

Get another Legnum man.... A Legnum is a combo of the 3 cars you WANT to get lol

And it won't be creepy. Every VR4 has its own character so it'll be different. Trust me, i've been in a few now :)

I'd go ether a Legnum or chaser, but only if its manual. for the chaser that would most likely mean a manual conversion.

i think that the foresters are too ugly, and also tall. if you got a forester im sure you'd miss the handling and just general fun.
liberty b4's are a bit overrated imo (sorry jez if your forum jumping). arent really that quick. i found they tend to understeer a lot too. my mates primary turbo has given up and i think his car has fairly low k's (they run 15 psi stock) and very expensive to replace and cant be rebuilt apparently...was also nowhere near as fun on gravel as the leggie
i'd personally go another legnum or a chaser

One car you may not have considered is the Nissan Y34 Cedric/Gloria. One hell of a car for around $15K landed and complied, and upwards. I ended up selling mine after two weeks ownership (persistent buyer who was unwilling to wait to import one!) but they crap all over the V35 sedans and are a generation newer in terms of styling and interior quality than most of the cars you've listed. I was very impressed with it, and am considering replacing it with another one, although my next one will be a black Yakuza staff car.

If i was to look at another car apart from the Legnum...i'd look at a Galant :p No but seriously i'f i was looking at a second hand car I'm really liking the XR6 turbos at the moment. Not sure how much the older ones go for but they seem like a hell of a car, and I'm generally not one for Falcodores.
But what are you looking for? I consider the VR4's all rounders but do you want a nice cruiser/daily or something you can put a shed load of work into like a Silvia, Chaser or 2 door Skyline or something? What car is for you depends on what you want it for :)

Skyline or Gloria I reckon. Get something that's unique. In Australia anyway.

I'd have considered a Gloria myself if they were available as manuals.
