HELP!! Ive got a whine

ahoy there chaps and chappettes. I started my car this morning and was greated with a horrible whineing noise coming from the the drivers side of the engine, i popped the bonnet and had a look but i cant tell where its coming from. Now yesterday i did a "river crossing" well really it was a stream and the water only came up to the bottom of the side skirts in depth, and afterwards the car drove fine with no noise, then i drove to a carwash and washed it and left there with no noise. Got home and parked it for the night. Get up this morning and start it up, WHINNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeee. It actully sounds like a supercharger whine (which i know about as my 73 mini is supercharged) and after some close listening i "think" it might be coming from one of the 2 wheeled devices closest to the front of the car.
Any ideas as to what it could be and how i can fix it. I might go check the error codes right now just to see if it tells me anything.

tighten the belts, (power steering and alternator)
or fit new ones,

worse case is you've got water into the pully tensioner bearing, and would have to be replaced

well i pulled the pully tensioner out for the power steering and aircon and when i spin it in my hand its noisey as bollocks, so im guessing i need a new one. any suggestions from where and approx how much it will be?!?!

Yes definately look at ebay and trade me and as a dogy sugestion there may be a decent one of a wrecked car in NZ or localy.
I thought I saw a car being parted out on ebay au.

I've got a whine in my GT-R - it comes from the passenger seat every time I put my foot down. Can anyone please advise of a course of action to remedy this??

Well i downloaded caps and had a fiddle and found that this pulley i need (md366344 or md306295 it gave 2 options) according to caps is also on a CK6A car, which after a google turns out to be a 96/97 mirage. Does this sound right?? I also got a quote from kempys for $245 + postage for a new one, surely i can get it cheaper from somewhere else in australia.

ok turns out its some sort of v6 saloon mirage, that doesnt sound like it would populate australian roads too much. but my other question about sourcing the part still stands

The V6 Saloon you're talking about will have a 6A10 or 6A11 engine, the 1.6 and 1.8 versions of our engines.

well my whine has been fixed, it was the pulley tensioner. A 2nd hand one from NZ, 2 days postage, 10 minute isntall, whine is gone
