Hey everyone my name is Damo im 20 i live in Alice Springs NT and i just bought my Super legnum a few months ago my first import :). I also have a 2005 BA Xr8 with a few mods which im selling as the legnum has taken its place in the car port lol and me and a mate are doing up an old mazda 1000 which we are putting a 13b rotary turbo in her so looking for 10s over the 1/4 lol. I am in love with the legnum though its just great to drive looking at entering it in a few hill climbs once i get a bigger set of breaks for her as i have noticed she is a bit slack at pulling up lol. But anyway im really looking forward to getting to know you guys as i know very very little about these cars and new mates are always good cheers.

Welcome! Got any snaps? Silver Super?
Check out the Auto Transmission Thread as well, especially if you're planning on entering hillclimbs etc. you'll want to have a fiddle with your transmission. Hope you've got a trans cooler in there or one on the way pretty soon, it'll roast up in Alice Springs otherwise! :)

Hey once I learn how to post up pics I will post some up. Before I bought the car it was converted to manual so I'm happy with that already lol

Manual Super, this car is going in a good direction!

Welcome and feel free to post up pics of the rotor too lol, love a good rotor.

Ahh nice one! Never mind about all the crap I said then :P
Sounds very promising.

Moving from a 8 to jap turbo, good move ;)

The leggys love the open planes, maybe a vented bonnet too, to keep shiz cool.

Pardon my ignorance, but where are the hills near alice?

happy days

ok there are some pics of my baby lol. i havnt taken an interior pic yet but its got the red momo interior with the recaro seats. The pictures above were in a car show i entered it in and she pulled off best import for the show so was pretty wrapped with that :). She has a 3 inch cat back so far so im chasing the front half now, coil overs, manual conversion, BOV, aftermarket computer, dvd/gps, upgraded intercooler, 18" rays racing wheels, obviously evo style front bar and bonnet, turbo timer. I think thats about all lol oh and she is running about 17psi. the car has not been dynoed so i wouldnt have a clue what power she has yet.

Ill travel to probably Mt Gambier for the hill climb there when i get about 200awkw lol. Sorry the rotary that im doing up is still very early stages so she is not much to look at yet lol but if anyone knows of any 13b bridgeports for cheap give me a yell lol with turbo would be good to. Ah great to see a fellow Territorian are you located in Darwin Stephen?

Wooow! I think I reckognise that, isn't that benny's aka just_plain_nuts old leggy? Did you buy it in brissy? Looks hot as mate! Love the evo style bumper.

Nice!

Does look like Benny's. That paint is so fresh and shiney. Has it been resprayed? Looks very nice.

i bought it off of a guy in Adelaide but i think he bought it from someone in Brissy a year or 2 ago. I think the guy that i bought it off said that whoever he bought the car off had it in HPI magazine but i have no exact proof of that so if anyone knows if this could be true then please do tell lol

Oh and yeah i would say it has had a respray as the paint is to good for its age and kms as it has about 140,000km on her

Either that or it has been looked after. Most of the VR4s still have their original paint. They were painted a lot betterthan the Magnas, that's for sure.

There's something odd about the under bonnet Photo... It looks like you have a pod filter AND the stock air intake.

Hopefully you'll be able to get the stock airbox hooked up and throw that bloody pod filter away.

Great looking car tho. A clay bar every six months works wonders for the paintwork.

Thanks heaps stephen i love her she only gets out maybe once a week but yes im very fussy with the condition of it lol. Do you think it would be heaps better to put the stock air box in with a K&N panel filter because i got the stock airbox with the car?

Firstly, hello and welcome to OZVR4, the NT chapter :P.

Great looking super mate, the red and silver really works well and it's a manual, got to be happy with that!

It's definitely a good idea to use the factory airbox, there is a good description why in bradc's signature block :) And plenty of info around here.

If that isn't Benny's old Super, then it's damn close to it. Also, I think he got rear ended at some point in his ownership, hence that could explain the fresh paint etc.

In any case, welcome to the Super club.
