Thought i would say hello!

I own a 2000 manual series 2 VR4 Sedan.
Have had the car for goin on two years. One of the most satisfying car ive ever owned or driven!
Iam currently planning on moving to Melbourne and have been trying to sell my car :S
But im about 99% sure, (unless a good offer comes up) that i will be keeping the car as ive just done alot of work to mechanically sort the car out and they are starting to get harder and harder to get!

So a bit of TLC with the paint work then into storage! May even bring over to Melbourne you never know :)

So anyway, great web site, lots of information which is really handy!

Karl

Bring it over :D That's a HOT piece of gear you have there mate!

Welcome to ozvr4 :D

Welcome to the site Karl. I agree, your car is hot - if you're intending to live in Oz for a while you should definitely bring it over. It will cost you a HELL of a lot more to buy an equivalent car over here...

I LIKE IT , WHAT SIZE WHEELS YOU GOT THERE!!
No need for CAPS Jason, it's like, f#$%ing annoying and I'll have to like, ban your a$# ;)

Hey Guys thanks!

Yeah its not a bad looking car, dont like chrome wheels, but these suit it pretty good along with the adjustable suspension! So Just get the paint done and it will be a minter hopefully!

What would one of the cost over in Aus?

Just thought you guys might like to know, Ive just poped into my mitsubishi dealer and they have a
2003, Red, NZ New, Manuel, 2 owner, VR4 in there in near new condition with 81,000km.
Asking $16k.
It has the suede Recaro seats in it and the momo steering wheel. very nice package and full service history sold new by them!

Oh and my wheels are 235 40 r19's, little bit wide wheel you push the car into a tight corner ( little bit of rubbing ) :)

can you post up the number plate of that 2003 car Karl?

Are you sure they are 235/40/19 and not 235/35/19?

Yeah just looked they are 235/35/19 cheers!

Ill swing by tonite and have a look for the rego for ya, Salesman is a pretty good guy, use to be the demo driver for mitsubishi on the track days in feilding.
Told me the history of the car and stuff, hasnt had a clutch yet nor has it had the cambelt. But he did say if the clutch went within 15,000km of you buying it, he would replace it free
It is a very mint and very very rare one, would buy it myself in a flash

NZ New Manual VR-4's are indeed very rare, only seen about 4 of them. It must have been one of the very last ones as well.

Sure was, The first owner brought gor around $45k brand new. Mitsubishi just had to get rid of them so sold them off cheap. The salesman was the guy in charge of bringing them into the country. Only 10 manuel and only 8 with recaro's, 2 standard trim, the other nz new VR4s from 99 on wards wheel auto with leather and wide body. No NZ news had wide body kit factory bit weird. All manuels didnt have AYC either which is a good thing!

One of my friends has a black 2001 nz new manual as well with the Recaro's.

There were no Type S Manual Facelift Galants, they were all Type V's (for Value) Hence no AYC. Mitsi NZ specced them up with the seats and steering wheel to make them seem sportier.

The auto ones sold new were all Type S's with AYC and all had the horrible beige leather and wheel arches

Thats one of the reasons I've got a Legnum, it is a facelift manual with AYC, that option simply doesn't exist for Galants!

Oh yeah true, my imported VR4 is manuel and doesnt have the AYC, I dont really like the AYC just personel pref,
Your mates one sounds nice. Was that on trade me a little while ago ?

Yours sounds cool aswell!

Well the leggy i drove which was manuel aswell just seemed to be very restrictive with it, but it was standard and totally different compared to my galant, suspension and tyres and stuff.
Never been for a good hoon in one with AYC and mods, so maybe thats why
