Hi all,

I've not long joined the forum and the VR-4 owners club.

Yesterday I bought a 99 Galant manual from a mate of mine. The car needs some TLC, but overall its in pretty good condition, and its a hell of an upgrade from a VT Commodore wagon lol. The car is pretty well stock, with the only mods being a (stupid) cannon muffler, a boost gauge and a manual boost controller. I plan on keeping it the way it is as I use the car as a daily and I would like to maintain reliability. I'm sure there are things I can do to it that will increase the performance without affecting the reliability, but I like it the way it is.

Its about to get some major service work done, some straight away, some a little later as I get the money together. Te timing belt will be first up, followed buy plugs/leads, then lifters and rocker cover gaskets/plug tube seals. The last few cars I've had were pretty dull, but I now have a car I want to fiddle with.

Welcome to the forum Adam.

You might as well do the lifters and gaskets when you do the plugs - saves you having to remove all the piping and intake plenum twice.

Derek - I'd like to get it all done at once, but I'll have to see how I'm going with money, buying the car took up all my savings. That's ultimately what I would like to do though
