Hey guys,

BJ here, long time fan of the Galant/Legnum and am hopefully picking mine up this weekend :D 1997 Pearl White Legnum.

Any tips and stuff to do once I pick up it from the dealer?
Was planning on oil flush, coolant flush and a wash :D

Also where do you guys here in Brisbane take them to get serviced/fixed just incase?

Oooo and last but not least am already after the plastic engine cover, anyone got a spare one lying around? :D

Cheers,
BJ

Here are a couple of workshops in Brissie, I'm not sure if they are good with Mitsubishis. Don't forget to get the AYC and transmission checked (I would flush both unless you know when it was last done or if you are confident by the condition of the oil).

Hey mate welcome aboard. What you need done depends on the condition of the vehicle.has it had the 100,000km service done?
Whenever I buy a car, I always do an oil change, gearbox flush, check air filter, plugs and service whatever other technical wizardry the car might have (transfer case, AYC etc) unless I'm certain it has all been done properly by a reputable workshop or someone I trust. Also check the condition of your coolant and give your hoses a good squeeze to look for buildup, have looked in the radiators of more than a few otherwise immaculate cars to find crud in the coolant. Also if it's an auto jump on the band wagon an install a transmission cooler, definitely worth it for peace of mind.I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will be along to tell you anything I have missed.Check you LCA's too and see if you have had your recall work sone.

Welcome BJ,

Importers and mechanics familiar with 8g VR4: www.carmenimports.com. That's who I used for major service, located in Brendale. Potentially a bit of a drive but have worked on countless Galants & Legnums.
Alternatively Gavin Wood if you're close to Gold Coast. No idea what they're like but work on Evo Lancers and have been used by few members.

What needs to be done depends on not only what's already been done but the general condition. Could already have everything done or could need all fluids flushed, replaced and AYC bled. Find out what's been done and what fluids were used and go from there.
