HKS SQV 3 - Question?

:huh: this is first mod on my legnum, need a new Bov before installing a boost controller so not leaking boost pressure.

Was thinking of getting a HKS SQV. Have been looking at nengun and not sure what kit to order with the sqv.
Should it be a universal mounting kit one or a specific fit as RHD Japan make mounting kits with a flange specific to our car.
With a flange it is about $250 more, anyone know whether the sqv needs to be mounted with a flange or can i just install with hose
and clamps such as stock bov.
Plus want to get the recirc kit for it also and not sure what the hose diameters are any help would be great thanks.

dont even bother.

just buy a evo 8 mr bov and be done with it , you will get over the noise and its not worth the price.

you can have a evo 8 mr one for 200 delivered , and 10 mins to fit.

34mm mounting adaptor
recirc kit is 25mm or 30mm, you need a 25/30 -> 34mm adaptor made for recirc


evo8 MR is defitnaly a better option if u wanna run recirc. i have chris's^^ old ssq and i love it but the sound does grow old quick, especially since our car spool so quick. on something more laggy it'd be swell

its a plumb back like the standard one , but wont leak boost as it is made from steel

It will make a sound if you listen really carefully or alternatively if you have the hearing of a bat it will make a rather loud noise lol.

So basically, no pretty quiet.

ive had my GReddy Type RS for over a year, just got it tight enough that it wont go off unless im actually trying to give it a bit (even a little bit)

and just to top it all off, I think you will find if a BOV is vented to the atmosphere. I will make your car unroadwurthy

You have to remember everyone is different and have different tastes.

Depends on what you want, going by your description it seems to me that you want an aftermarket BOV to prevent boost leak. As has been suggested above, the Evo VIII MR/IX Metal BOV is easily the best value for money.

Though if your after a bit of sound, then look elsewhere.

In terms of noise, I know I would get sick of this pretty quickly (the BOV, not the Evo )

Yeah i have a friend with one and when he first got it he set it soft so it went off all the time. Driving behind me he would just accelerate a bit then let off continuously resulting in a squeek....squeek.....squeek....squeek....squeek.....squeek...squeek....squeek.....squeek.

I will admit though in small doses they are by far my favourite bov.

yup, like the vid stephen posted. mine fires through every gear change up to 70, 1st to 5th; 0km to 70km, it fires every gear

I would say for that price it isnt a HKS. Will more than likely be a chinese rip off. Plus the black was a limited run i think making it even more expensive.

I could be wrong though.

I paid $200 for mine (black)+ $30 for adaptor +8$ for plug for the other pipe. I don't know about the cheaper one someone on here bought it (middle of page http://ozvr4.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47&highlight=blow+valve&page=9). My one does look exactly the same as others i've found on ebay and came in the right box/ vacume wraped
