Hi guys,

I'm looking to purchase a Legnum pretty shortly. Needing something more practical but still sporty.

I'm looking at a modded 2000 manual legnum. A couple of questions. Its got around 185kilowatts. What sort of 0-100 times am I looking at with that. 5.5 secs?

It's been lowered, I think its got tein coilovers. I actually don't want it that low for practicality purposes. How hard is it to bring it back to standard height or just somewhat higher?

cheers

welcome. is it auto or manual?

if you hav coilovers then you can just wind it up with some c spanners. if it has a spring/shock combo you'll need new springs

Yeah its manual. I'll ask the seller what the deal is. I'm not a fan of having to creep over curbs to not scrape the front bumper.

Welcome mate. There should be two c spanners that come with the teins. With those it wouldn't be hard to change the height of the car. My only suggestion would be to get it to the height you like and then get a wheel alignment (or get the dude you're buying off to do it). You'll like the Legnum, they're awesome cars.

Thanks Mack,

I'm not sure if this is the place but that car is just one I'm looking at. So if anyone is keen for a quick sale i'm set to go. Can not spend more than 11 grand, looking for a manual, modded or not, if the car has done 90-110k's the major service must have already been carried out (with receipts) and it must be in very good condition. Preferably in Victoria (easy pick up for me) but will look to SA, NSW and ACT however extra cost and hassle will need to be considered on my part. Just looking for a clean and fast'ish example. Preferential colour Trigger Mauve - Black - Silver - white.

Send the word out. The car will be put through a full NRMA check as well, so no dodgies please.

Where in Tas are you?

Welcome to OZVR-4.

According to FastestLaps, a bog standard manual VR-4 should do 0-100 in 6 seconds and the quarter in 13.9 seconds:

My guess is that these figures are absolutely best case (great launch and shifts, good driver, car in top condition etc). Having said that, I think Iron Chef did 13.9 seconds at the strip in a stocker.

Assuming this 185kw is at the wheels and it's manual, I think you'll comfortably do better than 5.5 seconds.

Ah, faster than 5.5. That's getting along for a practical car.

Hey guys good to see some more tassie owners. There aren't many leggies around. Should catch up sum time.

Jeez, touch n go atm. I'm looking at a M35 Stagea as well. I want the performance of the legnum but the maturity of the Stagea. I personally hate the C34 Stagea's but the M35 are bloody nice looking cars with a really nice interior. If the Legnums didn't look so 'boy racey,' a manual would be a clear choice. I freaking loved the performance of the standard one I test drove but it was a bit banged up.

I suppose my underlying thought is, I'd go a legnum now but can see myself owning the Stagea far longer. Its 50/50 atm
