in perth for a week, what to do?

Hey guys, just landed in Perth for a week.
Staying on the swan river in Rivervale.

Any perth people have any good recommendations of what to do?

This is our basic itinerary that we have worked out so far:
Wednesday and Thursday: Open Top Tour Bus (we will see Kings Park, Perth Mint, various shopping precincts in the city, Casino)
Friday: Rottnest Island (drive to freo, jump on the ferry, do some form of bus tour to see the place, and do the boat cruise that has the glass bottom)
Saturday: I have a wedding all day
Sunday: Drive to Fremantle (fremantle prison, little creatures brewery, do a tour of the submarine)
Monday: Swan River cruise

Is there anything else that we must do?
We are here with family, and the old's cant do anything physical like lots of walking or any climbing or swimming.

I'll be looking out for trevors sexy black legnum.
Were in a Hyundai iMax van. Didnt bring the leggie over!

i could easilly spend the whole week at rotto if you can stay there more. rent a bopat if you have a skippers ticket and drive there yourself?

Haha considering I do around 150km a day it MUST be a ghost to manage to avoid all you lot!
 
Make sure you go with the Rottnest Express boat (think it's called ECO?! - a bit controverse with 800hp at the back hehe)... if you're into swimming, go and swim across to Rotto!

Casino is always a good place to get some holiday money back - or lose it all!

Sundays in Freo is well choosen too! Love Little Creatures on Sundays!
 
i might say that the left bank is excellent on sundays, but then i may be a little biased :P

actually its better saturday arvos from 3pm onwards, great place to chill out with a couple of guys playing good music
 
thanks guys. Did Rottnest today - went over in just the normal boat, not the super fast one.
Rotty was great, loved the tour of the cannon and tunnels. Didnt get to do any snorkelling or cycling though, will leave that for december when I reckon I will come back.
Kings park was pretty cool too.

Trev, what area do you live in? If its close to where I am I could sneak out for a short while possibly.
Were staying in Rivervale, near Belmont.

Spotted my first WA legnum today coming back from Freo on the como highway??? White PFL with missing tow hook cover.
 
That'd be Canning Hwy, which becomes Great Eastern Hwy.

I'm in Craigie, which is way north, but I'm down that way a fair bit. Although I managed to get gastro yesterday, so not sure what shape I'll be in over the next couple of days :(

I didnt manage to have any free time - If I did I would have given you a call.
Went for a cruise down the swan river in a cruise boat on monday. Got a bit excited when I spotted the Fremantle Boat Park!

It was a good holiday, I could really live in Perth. Its much like adelaide, but with more highways, more bridges, and more water.
I love the way the highways go straight through/pass the city.
 
You obviously never made it to Little Creatures on Sunday either.... otherwise you would have spotted my Leggy ;-)
 
Actually I did make it there, but did not spot a leggy! I was there from about 2-4pm. Love that place its awesome.
Cant beleive how busy that area was. Is it always like that on a Sunday or was it just because it was mothers day?
 
It's always busy... actually I've seen it a lot busier there in the past!

2-4? That explains why you haven't seen it... I was there between 5 and 7.30!
