Intercooler Install!

Got my intercooler kit! 600x240x76.

Gonna install it this Sunday. I know its fairly basic, but can anyone that has installed one on a Legnum/Galant before give me a hand installing it so I don't get stuck ?

Just throwing it out there.

I'm on the Northside of Brisbane but very close to the city.

get yourself a powersteering cooler if you havent already.

what pipes you using?

It came with a replacement steel line thing with braided lines, suppose I just need the core and mounting kit instead?
It's an autobahn88 kit with pipes to replace the standard stuff. Also have cusco top pipes.

I think it has been posted on here that the autobahn intercooler kit doesn't really fit, not without a bit of mucking around anyway. The intercooler is probably fine though, will fit with a bit of hammering in the body work. Would help if I wasn't so far away, it's one of the few jobs on a vr4 that I have managed to complete myself.

I was under the impression that the hdi ones had trouble fitting due to wide end tanks or something?

HDI fits fine, no cutting just hammering the radiator support back abit

Oh ok, I don't see why the autobahn one would be any different considering it's 240mm high as opposed to hdi 260mm

if anything, you'll need to give the drivers side section of the crash bar a bit of mallet loving. you'll see when you fit it.

Yep, as Chris said, the Autobahn one is a little painful (I have done one) But it is not too bad.

just do what i did... whack the cooler in, secure the hose with the clamps then whack on the crash bar!! no need for the cooler mount tabs

Think it's just the autobahn piping that isn't a good fit, not the cooler itself.

Lol Christian, just make sure it doesn't get any oil collecting in it, the extra weight of the oil might cause it to fall out.
